Stampin’ Up! Beautiful World of Good Fun Fold with Video Tutorial

Good morning on Palm Sunday.  Just a week until Easter and all that day symbolizes!  And – the day that so many hens work so hard for all year round!

Or – so I’ve heard.

Regardless of how you celebrate Easter – hope you’re getting ready for it cuz it’s coming either way!

All of which MIGHT lead you to believe that I have an Easter card to share with you today.

But…I don’t! 🤷‍♀️

Now – if you were able to join me last night for my Facebook Live video – I appreciate you spending part of your weekend with me.  If not – and you’d like to see how to make this fun fold, here’s the replay on YouTube!

Now – if y’all know me at all, you know I love easel cards!  So, when I came across a DIAGONAL easel – it was a foregone conclusion that I’d have to make one.  The ones I saw on the internet were for square cards – so I did a little figurin’ and made one that is an A2 size.  For this one, I used the retiring Beautiful World stamp set and bundled World Map (get the dies for a HUGE 75% off!!).  I also used the gorgeous World of Good Specialty DSP (take 40% off right now!).  Take a look-see:

The front is a CASE of a card done by Krista Frattin – for the Global Design Project challenge this week.

I started with a regular A2 piece of Mossy Meadow – 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored and folded at 4 1/4″.  Then I scored and folded the front on the diagonal to create the fun fold.

I cut a piece of Bumble Bee cardstock at 4″ x 5 1/4″ – and cut it into two triangles with my Paper Trimmer.  Then I cut a piece of the World of Good Specialty DSP to 3 3/4″ x 5″ (this is 1/8″ smaller in both directions than my “normal” card fronts) – cut THAT into two triangles and used Liquid Glue to adhere them to the mats and then to the card front.

I used a large die from the Tasteful Labels Dies to cut a piece of Mossy Meadow World of Good DSP.  I adhered the label to the lower triangle of the card front – making sure to only use Liquid Glue on the bottom part of the label.

I cut two strips of different World of Good Specialty DSP and adhered them to the first die cut label with Liquid Glue – again ONLY get glue on the bottom half of the card front.

I adhered a Gold Hoop Embellishment (retiring – sniff sniff – and 10% off right now) with a couple of Glue Dots – then tied a loose figure 8 bow with 3/16″ Braided Linen Trim (retiring and 20% off!) and adhered it with a Glue Dot.

I heat embossed the world image from Beautiful World in Gold (y’all – ALL the Stampin’ Emboss Powder colors are retiring!!) on Mossy Meadow and cut it with the die from World Map.   This is popped on with some double-stacked Dimensionals.

The sentiment, from Beautiful World, is stamped in Mossy Meadow on Crumb Cake, cut with a Tasteful Labels die and adhered with Liquid Glue.

I used Glue Dots to add two Antiqued Corners (yes….retiring, darn it! But you can stock up when they’re at 60% off like they are right now!) – and the card front was done.

For the inside, I matted a piece of Very Vanilla on Bumble Bee and then added a diagonal cut of World of Good Specialty DSP with Liquid Glue – then I adhered the whole thing to the inside of the card.

For the easel stop – I stamped another Beautiful World sentiment in Mossy Meadow on Crumb Cake and cut it with a Tasteful Labels die.  Then I popped it onto the inner liner with Dimensionals.

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got the Beautiful World image in Mossy Meadow on the front…

…and more of the World of Good Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila! Isn’t this a great way to do an Easel card?  And it’s really super easy to make, too.  I love it!  I’m sorry that the pretty Beautiful World stamp set and World Map Dies are retiring, but…it’s cool that you can get 75% off the dies (that makes them $7.75!! 😳😳😳)   And a 40% savings on the World of Good Specialty DSP – with it’s wonderful foil accents – is pretty amazing, too!  Also?  Gold Hoops (10% off) and Antiqued Corners & Slides (60% off!!), you guys.  GET THEM NOW! Get a lot of them.  They’re awesome!!

I hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

Finn loves beans.

No – that’s not actually true – but…I love beans.  So…

I really love GROWING beans.

Every spring – after I plant seeds – I check them every day.  Sometimes twice.  Yes – I KNOW they won’t be up for a while, but…I can’t seem to KEEP myself from checking.

Every.  Day.

Beans are the ultimate BAMM gift.

I planted them a little over a week ago.

This past Thursday evening on my JIC check…

Nade – nothing but the lettuce that I’d planted in the middle.

Friday morning – no kidding.

WE’RE HERE!!

It’s like Christmas!

Then Friday evening (yes – the SAME Friday!)…

Another 2- 3″!

Yep – I love growing green beans – they’re the ultimate tease and then…they just go crazy!!  They’ll be up the mesh and making yummy beans in no time!

P.S.  Finn got mail on Saturday.  Stay tuned to see what’s inside the Big Box from The Hungry Hound! 🙂

  1. Such a cool fun fold design! Love the mix of papers that you used too! Yay for the garden sprouting…we just finally had the last of the snow go away on Friday here. So yay for that (although I see that we may get snow on Thursday!!!)!

Snow in March. Makes sense – sounds like Colorado! 🙂 We’re having the pollen blizzards right now! 🤷‍♀️ Thanks so much, Amy! 🙂

  2. OK. Sorry I missed the live event, though I really intended to tune in for it. Watched the replay. Wow! Love this fold. Very different and I like the way it stands up. Cool.
No beans planted here for at least another 6 weeks. Too cold for their tender little leaves. Corn could be planted any time, but won’t be as we just had another 2″ of rain on top of snow melt and more rain. Too wet. And, by the time it dries out, we will get more rain. So….who knows when anything will get planted. As for gardens, Good Friday is the time to plant potatoes, and some folks plant lettuce and radishes also. I am afraid it will still be too wet to plant anything on Good Friday.
    Enjoy watching yours grow.

It’s a cool cool fold, for sure, Julie! And yes – I love watching the little veggies grow – it’s SO gratifying!! Thank you, Julie! 🙂
