Stampin’ Up! Gift of Hope Pop-Up Fun Fold Easter Card with Video Tutorial

Good morning and happy Friday!  Again!  I hope you had a great week – and weren’t in the path of the tornado outbreak on Wednesday and Thursday.  It missed us – although there was a lot of rain…  Wet wet wet.  But…no tornadoes so I am grateful for that, for sure!

If you were able to join me for my YouTube live yesterday, I appreciate you spending part of your day with me.  If not, here’s the replay!

With Easter coming up soon – like…two weeks?…this seemed like a good time to do another Easter card – and I once again used the beautiful Gift of Hope stamp set and used it, plus some Forever Greenery DSP and the Forever Fern stamp set, to create an easy fun-fold pop up card.  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one is from the Mojo Monday sketch this week.

And the spring-y color palette is from the Color Throwdown challenge.

I started with a simple Basic White cardstock panel, matted on Shaded Spruce, for the card front.  I matted two strips of Forever Greenery DSP on Shaded Spruce and then adhered them to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I cut a small Stitched Shapes circle die from Just Jade card stock and embossed it one of the Meadow Moments Embossing Folders, then adhered it with Liquid Glue.

A couple of Glue Dots adhered the Gold Hoop Embellishment to create the middle circle element.

I cut another – larger – Stitched Shapes circle from Basic White.  Then I inked the Gift of Hope sentiment in Versamark Ink and stamped it in the middle.  Then I sprinkled it with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder, heated it up with my Heat Tool and popped it over the Hoop with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  And that was it for the card front.

Now – the inside is where the magic happens!  I saw this on Connie Stewart’s Simply Simple Stamping channel and decided my card needed a pop-up element, too!

I used a piece of the Forever Greenery DSP to create the pop up panel, which I adhered inside the card with Liquid Glue.  Best to take a gander at the video to see how to cut it – fold it – and get it into the card base!

Once I had the pop-up element in the Just Jade card base, I stamped the wreath from Gift of Hope in Versamark on Basic White Stitched So Sweetly rectangle, and heat embossed it in Gold. I used my Shaded Spruce and Just Jade Stampin’ Write Markers to color the leaves – leaving the flowers white.  Hint: don’t try to use Stampin’ Blends on heat embossed images – the alcohol will melt the embossing!! 😉

I stamped a second Gift of Hope sentiment in Shaded Spruce in the middle of the wreath and used Liquid Glue to adhere this to the pop-up mechanism

I stamped a sentiment pair from Gift of Hope in Hope in Shaded Spruce and Just Jade in the middle of a smaller Basic White panel.  In the corner, I stamped a sweet leaf image from Forever Fern in Just Jade – I stamped it once in full strength and then stamped it a second time without re-inking.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Shaded Spruce mat and into the card base, adhered the card front with Liquid Glue and the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got more Just Jade leaves from Forever Fern on the front…

…and more of the Forever Greenery DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Isn’t this a cool fun fold?  And I show you in the video how to adapt it to put into other card configurations!  I love the pretty Gift of Hope stamp set – it’s pretty well perfect for your Easter cards!! Forever Fern and the Forever Greenery DSP beautifully represent the renewal of Spring (in one of my favorite color combinations!).

I hope you like!

  1. Such a pretty card for Easter! Love the popup inside too! Poor Finn…he’s just making sure that he doesn’t miss anything while “resting”…I’m sure that if you tried to step over him, he’d jump right up to help get out of the way, making himself into a full obstacle course instead of just a speed bump. 😉

Beautiful card. The inside is a pleasant surprise and a fun compliment to the simplicity of the front.
