Stampin’ Up! Itty Bitty Coming Home Fun Fold with Video Tutorial for The Paper Players

Hey y’all – it’s Sunday, which means I’ve got another fun challenge for you from the Paper Players – Anne Marie came up with a really fun Tic-Tac-Toe for us this week.  You KNOW how much I love Tic-Tac-Toe’s and I know YOU do, too!  I mean – what’s not to love!? So I hope you’ll come and play along with us!

If you were able to join me yesterday for my Facebook Live video, I appreciate you spending some of your weekend with me!  If you weren’t able to watch the live version, but you’d like to see the replay on YouTube…here ’tis!

I love a double-easel card and – yes, I know I’ve used them a lot, but…they’re just so cool!  For this one, I used the fun Trimming the Town DSP and the coordinating Coming Home stamp set and bundled Home Together Dies.  Since that’s an image-only set, I pulled in Itty Bitty Christmas for some sentiments.  Take a look-see:

And here’s our Paper Players Tic-Tac-Toe challenge – I hope you’ll come and play along! 🙂  I hit the diagonal left to right (Patterned Paper – Fun Fold – Green) and the middle column (die cut – Fun Fold – Embellishment).

I also loosely based the front design on the Global Design Project’s CAS(E) The Designer challenge.

Finally – it seems sorta perfect for this week’s TGIF Theme Challenge!

I started with a piece of Misty Moonlight that would be the Easel “mechanism” and the mat for the card front.  It’s 4″ x 10″ and I scored it at 5 1/4″ and 7 5/8″.  Then I folded it into the easel.

I cut a piece of mountain-y paper from the Trimming the Town DSP and adhered it to the larger part of the easel.  Then I cut two tree-strewn pieces for the two smaller panels.

Using the two edge dies in the Home Together Die set, I cut two “snow drifts” from Whisper White cardstock.  I adhered one to the smaller front panel with Liquid Glue.  Then I adhered the easel to the front of my Poppy Parade card base with Liquid Glue.

I used an Adhesive Sheet to adhere a large piece of Trimming the Town DSP to a piece of Whisper White card stock.  Then I used the dies in the Home Together Die set to cut a couple of houses and some trees from the DSP.  Hint: by adhering the DSP to the cardstock – the backs of the die cuts (which you can see on this kind of card) will be white (and not have a pattern on them!) plus – it makes them a little sturdier!

I adhered the taller house to the small panel, with a large tree next to it, using Liquid Glue.  Then I adhered the second house over top.

On the second snow drift, I stamped an Itty Bitty Christmas sentiment in Poppy Parade, then, using Stampin’ Dimensionals, I popped it onto the panel.

With Liquid Glue, I adhered two more die cut trees onto the snow drift.

I added some Adhesive-Backed Snowflakes over the “mountains” (and one by the sentiment) and a single star from the All The Trimmings Embellishments on the attic window of the front house – and the card front was done!

On the inside, I added a second Itty Bitty Christmas sentiment in Poppy Parade to a Whisper White panel.  Around it, I stamped a bunch of Pool Party snowflakes (from Coming Home).

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Misty Moonlight mat and into the Poppy Parade card base and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got some Coming Home trees in Old Olive and Pool Party snowflakes on the front…

…and a little more Trimming the Town DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I love being able to use dies from the Home Together Die set to cut the houses out of the Trimming the Town DSP, don’t you?  And the images in the bundled Coming Home stamp set are perfect to add a little of this and a little of that.

And speaking of little – the Itty Bitty Christmas, with its plethora of petite sentiments,  is one that you NEED in your stash!

I hope you like!

If you want to recreate this card – all the Stampin’ Up! products you need are listed down below along with the card cuts!

Now…take a look at what the rest of the team has to offer!  Then pull out your ink and papers and have a little fun challenge! 🙂

Finn Fan Fix

Finn – once again (he’s generous like that!) yielded his spot.  This time for a Lodging Review.

From…Cerah.

Lyft and Yelp get Stars.  Movies get Rotten Tomatoes.

Stalls get…Hooves! 😉

Recently, Cerah submitted a Five-Hooves Review trumpeting her resounding customer satisfaction with the bedding and linens in her room.

How do I know?

Well – I read her review, of course!

“The bed was soft and fluffy – and highly absorbent.  Fresh smelling and very very comfortable.  There was a full bag of hay, fresh water and a huge salt block.  After dinner mints were offered and gratefully accepted, with dinner including a freshly cut carrot and an apple wedge.  Will be recommending this B&B to all my friends and will for sure stay here again.  Probably tonight.  Likely tomorrow, too”.

Also?  The shavings.  Shavings all over her!  It’s a sure sign that all has met with her high expectations!

Two nights in a row!

Just gives me a warm fuzzy knowing she approves my efforts to make her all comfy!!

  1. Sweet card and fun video! Love the winter village that you created. 🙂 Glad that the pony approved of the new bedding and gave it a 5 hooves review. 😉

Yep – I can sleep soundly at night now! 🙂 Thanks, Amy! 🙂

  2. Super cute! What an adorable village!

  3. How fun! I opted to not get this set, but might have to give in and get the paper. It makes great backgrounds. However, seeing your card, as well as some that others have done, I might have to re-thing getting the bundle. (sigh)
Cerah certainly writes a nice review. Had to make you feel good that she likes her lodgings. 5 hooves-WOW! You might have to go into business. 🙂

  4. Faith Simpson

I loved seeing this cute fun-fold come together. I especially loved the use of the DSP….how the mountains in the background made a wonderful scene. You are so creative!!
ok….not being a farm, barn, or horse person, I am assuming that the shavings on Cerah’s back meant that she was rolling around in her bed…..thoroughly enjoying it!! Well, of COURSE you would provide 5-hooves establishment!! Can’t imagine anything less.

    • stampsnlingers

Yep – meant she was wallowing and enjoying every minute! Thanks very much, Faith! 🙂

  5. I absolutely adore the scene you created, Mary! I haven’t made a double easel card in ages, but you have inspired me to design my own little village! Have a wonderful week!
