Stampin’ Up! Love of Leaves Plaid Itty Bitty Birthday with Video Tutorial

Good morning and happy Weekend-Eve!  Hope you’ve had a good week and are looking forward to a fun weekend!

If you were able to join me yesterday for my YouTube live, I appreciate you spending some time with me – if not, but you’d like to see the replay, here ’tis! 🙂

This is a fun-fold card that I fashioned after the one I saw on Stampin’ Mom!  I used the Love of Leaves Bundle and the Wreath Builder Dies atop some Plaid Tidings DSP!  Take a look-see:

The layout for the front of this fun-fold card is from this week’s Global Design Project.

And it is perfect for the Tic-Tac-Toe challenge, too! I went down the right column. 🙂

And the color palette is from the Sunday Stamps challenge.

I made two versions of this card – the one I made on the video is the one I’ll give directions for here.  The only difference is the “card base”.  Carry on!

I cut a piece of Cinnamon Cider cardstock to 4″ x 7 1/2″ and scored and folded it at 5 1/4″ along the long side.  The fold is a “valley” so that the small flap folds up onto the large panel.

Next, I adhered a piece of Cinnamon Cider Plaid Tidings DSP to the top (larger panel) and a smaller piece of the same design to the smaller panel.  Note:  Be sure that the plaid is visible when the flap is folded up.  Does that make sense? 🙂

I opened the flap and added a piece of Bumble-Bee Plaid Tidings DSP to the inner side of the small flap.   Then I used Liquid Glue to adhere the easel fold to the front of a Cajun Craze card base.  Note:  for this card – the card base is a “regular” tent fold.  The other version has a card base that is a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ flat piece.

I cut a smaller Cinnamon Cider “card” to 3 1/4″ x 8″ and scored and folded it as a regular tent fold.  I used Liquid Glue to adhere another piece of Bumble Bee Plaid Tidings to the front.

On the inside, I stamped a sentiment from Itty Bitty Birthdays in Cajun Craze on a small piece of Whisper White.  I stamped over the sentiment with the large leaf from Love of Leaves in stamped-off-once Bumble Bee.  Then I adhered it inside the card with Liquid Glue.

I added the small card to the large easel with Liquid Glue – making sure that the small bottom flap was “free” to open and close.

While I was in there – I adhered another piece of the Bumble Bee Plaid Tidings to the top of the inside of the small card.

Back on the front, I cut one of each of the Wreath Builder dies – one in Mossy Meadow and one in Old Olive – and adhered them to the front with Liquid Glue.

I cut out a large leaf from Cajun Craze using the cutting and the stitch-embossing dies in the Stitched Leaves Die set.

I adhered the leaf to the wreath with Liquid Glue.

I tied a figure-8 bow with Linen Thread and adhered it to the leaf with a Glue Dot.

On a piece of Whisper White, I stamped a second Itty Bitty Birthdays sentiment in Cajun Craze and cut it with the small die in the Stitched Rectangle Dies set – then I popped it on with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals (using a double-stack under the right side of the sentiment).

I added some Cinnamon Cider 2020-2022 In Color Enamel Dots and the front was done!

For the card with the flat-panel card base – that was it!  Finis!

For the tent-fold card base, I stamped the large leaf in stamped-off-once Bumble Bee on a Whisper White panel, matted it on Cinnamon Cider and adhered it inside the card with Liquid Glue.

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got another stamped-off-once Bumble Bee Love of Leaves leaf on the front…

…and a little more of the Cinnamon Cider Plaid Tidings on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  How fun is this fun fold??  Whether you make it as this sample – with the tent-fold card base, or as the flat-panel card base – I think your recipient will be awe-struck!!  The gorgeous Wreath Builder wreath is a perfect base for the Stitched Leaves die cut leaf.  And Itty Bitty Birthdays is exactly right for the diminutive nature of the card front!

I hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

Four years ago today, Wayne and I got in the van and drove to Tennessee.

To meet a shy – at first! – little dog and his parents (the two-legged AND four-legged variety!).

He was not too sure about us – but…once we got in the house, he finally decided we might be okay.

A few hours later, we all loaded up and headed back to Atlanta.

And so began four years filled with laughter – and some tears (but WAY more laughter!).  And toys.

So.  Many.  Toys!

Looks at his solemn little face as he contemplates this new development!   🥰🥰🥰

Happy 4th Adoption Day, little man!  Love you something fierce!

Thanks, Susan! Appreciate that! And yes – he’s handsome AND cute. He’s talented that way – he can be BOTH! 🙂

  2. …such a beautiful card! Finn looks so petite! It’s hard to believe it’s been four years. Where in TN did you go?

  4. AWW! What a cutie. Now he’s handsome. He has brought joy to you and Wayne and SO many others of us.
Love your card. You know….plaid, leaves, layers, etc. Had to pick pears yesterday so missed the live video but watched it this morning instead of canning tomatoes! Now I have an uplifted day to get the canning done. Hilarious. And a good history lesson. I didn’t know ‘bork’ had a real history. Seems like one ‘bork’ leads to another sometimes!
Thanks for the fun you brought to my morning!

    • stampsnlingers

Thanks, Julie – glad you enjoyed it! And hope you got your tomatoes all put up!

  5. Faith Simpson
