Stampin’ Up! Festive Corners in the Pines for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Hey y’all – it’s Thursday, so it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!!  Today’s a sketch challenge – and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table!  I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

As I started to work on this sketch – my brain saw some some plaid.  Duh, Mare…  and…the Festive Corners stamp set.  As I worked thru building the card – my plan to put one of the vertical sentiments from Festive Corners in the middle of the oval sort of fell thru.  But – it was an easy fix – I added pines from the In The Pines stamp set (even better!).  Take a look-see:

And here’s our sketch!

And I played along with the Watercooler Wednesday Challenge.

I started with a piece of Whisper White card stock.  In two corners, I added the Christmas corner sentiment from Festive Corners in Shaded Spruce.

I cut a piece of Plaid Tidings DSP with a Stitched Rectangle Die and then cut a Cherry Cobbler mat.

I placed them together (no adhesive) and ran them thru my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine with an oval Stitched Shapes die in place.  The die cut thru both layers at once!

Then I used Liquid Glue to adhere the two panels together.

I placed the panel onto the card front to use as a guide, and stamped the trees outline image from In The Pines in Shaded Spruce ink.  Then I picked up the plaid panel and set it aside.

I used the fill image for the trees in Shaded Spruce and added the ground image twice in Crumb Cake ink.

I popped the plaid panel into place with Stampin’ Dimensionals and then adhered the card front to the front of my Cherry Cobbler card base with Liquid Glue.

I added some Bumble Bee stars from the All The Trimmings Embellishment pack around the trees, and adhered a small 3/16″ Braided Linen Trim bow with a Glue Dot.  And that was it for the card front!

On the inside, I added the corner lights image twice in Shaded Spruce to a Whisper White panel. I colored the lights with my Bumble Bee and Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Write Markers.  I added a sentiment from In The Pines in Shaded Spruce and a single Bumble Bee star, too.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel into the Cherry Cobbler card base and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more of the Festive Corners lights on the front…

…and some of the wunnermus Plaid Tidings on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Festive Corners is one of those stamp sets that you may have missed – but…you should go take another look!  It hits Halloween, Christmas and Valentine’s with super-fun vertical and round-the-corner sentiments!

In The Pines is…well – it’s PINES!  So you know I love it!  The two-step tree images are so pretty – and you get a softer fill using the same ink color and no need to stamp off!

And – I think you’re tired of me extolling the virtues of the Plaid Tidings DSP.  So I won’t.

But…it’s totally awesome! And…on sale!  Winner winner!

I hope you like!
