Stampin’ Up! His Love Prized Peony Card with Video Tutorial

Happy Friday, y’all!  It’s World Card Making Day-eve and I hope you’re planning to join us tomorrow for our day-long Inkin Krew FB Event!  We’ll be doing live presentations from 9am to 9pm and having fun prize patrols!  And – if you can’t spend the WHOLE day with us – you’ll be able to watch replays of the videos even afterwards.  So…head over and join the group!  There’s more details down below!

If you were able to join me yesterday for my YouTube live, I appreciate you spending some time with me – if not, but you’d like to see the replay, here ’tis! 🙂

I inked up a beautiful new-to-me set called His Love and the older – but equally gorgeous! – Prized Peony stamp sets to create this card that would be appropriate for any time of the year.  Then I added several different designs from the Peony Garden DSP (on sale NOW!) and…take a look-see:

The layout for this one is from the Sunday Stamps sketch challenge this week.

I started with a Petal Pink design from Peony Garden that I matted on Petal Pink for the card front.  A smaller panel in Gray Granite, matted on Petal Pink, made the next layer, adhered with Liquid Glue.

Then I took two strips of DSP and matted them on Petal Pink, then adhered them with more Liquid Glue.

I stamped the His Love sentiment in Gray Granite on Whisper White and cut it with the next-to-smallest circle Stitched Shapes Die.

I inked and stamped the His Love Cross in Versamark Ink on Whisper White, sprinkled it with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed it with my Heat Tool.

I fussy cut the Cross and then used some Liquid Glue to adhere it to the side of the sentiment circle.

I used a couple of Glue Dots to adhere a Gold Hoop Embellishment.  Then I popped the sentiment/Cross combo over top with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I added three small-ish Gold Glitter Enamel Dots and the card front was done!

On the inside, I added a second His Love sentiment in Gray Granite to a Whisper White panel.  Over top, I added the sweet peony from Prized Peony in Petal Pink.  Tip: my Petal Pink ink pad is pretty dry – like needing-to-be-re-inked soon dry – so I was able to add the flower right over top of the sentiment.  If your pad is juicier – then you might need to stamp it off once before adding it – check it out on a piece of scrap paper first, to see which way will work better for you! 🙂

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Petal Pink mat and into my Gray Granite card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got another Prized Peony on the front…

…and more of the Peony Garden DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I think there are so many possible times when the sentiments and images in His Love would be perfect, don’t you?

And the perfectly paired Prized Peony adds a soft, lovely touch.

The Peony Garden DSP is stunning in its serene beauty – and…right now it’s on sale for 15% off the normal price so this is the perfect time to stock up!

I hope you like!

If you’d like to re-create this card, all the card cuts and products needed are listed down below!

Finn Fan Fix

The other morning I looked out the barn to see….

Sentry on duty.

I looked around to see if there really WAS anything deserving of such focus…

Nothi…..oh wait….

There they were!

It’s so odd – our last dog, Buck, would have been hightailing it down there and chasing them into the next county.

Finn?

Just watching intently.  Live and let live is his motto (unless you’re a squirrel and then…say live and let dieeeee.  You’re welcome for the ear worm!).

  1. What a pretty card! The colors are just perfect! Good thing that Finn is ever on patrol…squirrels must be banished and all other critters must be carefully observed for squirrel-like tendencies. 😉

    • stampsnlingers

Yes – the squirrels are known for trying to recruit the deer for their nefarious activities! Thanks, Amy! 🙂

  2. Faith Simpson
