Stampin’ Up! Heartfelt Detailed Hearts for The Paper Players

I’ve got another fun challenge for you today from the Paper Players – I hope that you’ll come on over and play!  It’s a very month-appropriate theme challenge, as you’ll see in a second.

If you were able to join me last night for my Facebook Live video, I appreciate you spending some of your weekend with me!  If not, but you’d like to see the replay on YouTube…here ’tis!

I decided to go all-out Valentine’s Day for our challenge – with the Heartfelt stamp set and bundled Heart Punch Pack with a little extra help from the Detailed Hearts Die set.  Take a look-see:

And here’s this week’s Paper Players challenge!  Join the fun and show us your projects! 🙂

The layout for this one is from this week’s CAS(E) This Sketch challenge.

And it’s for certain-sure a Valentine’s Day card so…the TGIF Challenge was perfect!

Finally, the Just Us Girls Word Week Challenge helped me add the final element!

I started with a piece of Whisper White card stock that I embossed in the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder and matted on Basic Black for the card front.

To create the ombre Detailed Hearts Die cut – I took a piece of Whisper White card stock and adhered 1 1/8″ wide strips of Lovely Lipstick, Melon Mambo, Flirty Flamingo, Blushing Bride and Petal Pink cardstock to it with Liquid Glue.  Be sure to get adhesive right up to the edges of the strips!

I laid the Detailed Hearts Die over the panel and ran it thru my die cutting machine.  It takes a few passes – it’s thick!

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the die cut to the card front.

Then I used some Liquid Glue to adhere a length of Black 1/2″ Satin Ribbon on a diagonal.

For the sentiment, I used my Stamparatus to stamp the sentiment from the Heartfelt stamp set in Flirty Flamingo on Whisper White.  Using the Heart Punch Pack, I cut the sentiment with the straight-edge heart and used the scalloped-edge heart to cut one from Silver Glimmer Paper.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the sentiment heart to its Silver Glimmer heart mat and then to the card front.

I tied a small bow from the Black 1/2″ Satin Ribbon and adhered it with a Glue Dot to finish off the card front.

On the inside, I stamped a second Heartfelt sentiment in Flirty Flamingo on a Whisper White panel.  I stamped the dotted-heart image in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  Then I made a mask from a sticky note by punching the straight-edged Heart Punch.  I set the mask over the heart and sentiment and stamped the arrow in Melon Mambo.  Then I “fixed” the little gap with my Melon Mambo Stampin’ Write Marker.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Basic Black mat and then into my Flirty Flamingo card base, popped the card front on with Black Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got a Tuxedo Black Memento ink dotted heart and Melon Mambo arrow on the front…

…and a Melon Mambo heart stamp from the Heartfelt set on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Valentine’s Day – straight up!  I love the way the Heartfelt Bundle with the cool dual-punch Heart Punch Pack works with the Detailed Hearts Die, don’t you?

That single die gives so much interest to a card – whether you do it in tone-on-tone (like I did on this card here) or with a rainbow of colors like I did today!  I hope you like!

If you want to recreate this card – all the Stampin’ Up! products you need are listed down below along with the card cuts!

Finn Fan Fix

So – Finn gave up his “spot” today for a different kind of post.

On Friday evening, my brother lost his sweet kitty, Bijou.  She was rescued from New Orleans after Katrina as a youngster and he adopted her.

Bijou – “a small dainty usually ornamental piece of delicate workmanship; something delicate, elegant, or highly prized”

No photo description available.

As all our fur-children do, she quickly became a fixture in his heart.

Image may contain: cat and indoor

Considering he had her for most of her life he is pretty devastated at her loss.  And I know his apartment is feeling very empty today.

Image may contain: cat, table and indoor

So – please send good thoughts and prayers his way for peace today and comfort knowing that she’s at the Bridge, playing will all the good kitties who have gone ahead.

Image may contain: possible text that says 'A piece of my heart is at rainbow bridge'

Bijou was about the same age as Katy.

Which means that our time with her is probably drawing to a close.

So I’ll try to remember that at 3:30 in the morning when she wakes me up to eat – even though she’s got food bowls set out.  It’s apparently not the “right” food.  In some cases it’s the SAME food that she WILL eat if I get up and give it to her at 3:30 in the morning.

My little fur-tyrant.

Of course, like all fur-children, just about the time I “can’t take another second” – she…

and….

So.

Now both Bijou and Katy are immortalized on the internet forever!

Thanks for reading my not-Finn-Fan Fix!
