Hey y’all – it’s Thursday, so it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!! Today’s a color challenge – and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table! I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!
When you see the color challenge you’re going to think From My Heart…Valentine’s Day…Love. Well – I got at least ONE of those on today’s card! I pulled out the Little Ladybug special Host stamp set from the 2020 Sale-A-Bration Flyer and added some From the Heart Specialty DSP to make a…birthday card! Take a look-see:
I’m guessing you’ve probably guessed the challenge?
I pulled my layout inspiration from the Freshly Made Sketches challenge this week.
I started with some From My Heart Specialty DSP – look at that shiny red foiling!! Wow! I matted that panel on Basic Black for the card front.
The smaller art panel is Whisper White. I used my Stamparatus to stamp the big flower from Little Ladybug in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, then I matted it on Basic Black and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.
I stamped the sentiment from Little Ladybug in Versamark Ink on a piece of Flirty Flamingo cardstock. I sprinkled it with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heated it with my Heat Tool. When it had cooled a little, I cut it out with the smallest rectangle die in the new (and WONDERFUL!!!) Stitched So Sweetly Die set.
I popped the sentiment on with Black Stampin’ Dimensionals.
For the ladybug herself, I stamped her twice in Tuxedo Black using my Stamparatus – once on Whisper White and then once on a different From My Heart Specialty DSP design.
The Whisper White version was cut out with the ….drum roll, please!!…the new LADYBUG DIES!!
How cool are those? And you’ll be able to get them on 4 Feb! Or…right now if you join Stampin’ Up!! 😉
Anywho – I cut the Whisper White version with the die. I colored her face with my Light Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blend – with a dab of rouge with my Light Flirty Flamingo Blend.
On the DSP ladybug, I fussy cut just the wings. ‘I also cut part way up the line dividing the wings – to partially separate them. I used a stylus on the back of the wings to round them a bit and colored them with my Light Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Blend.
I added them to the Whisper White ladybug with a Black Stampin’ Dimensional – a full one under the larger wing and a little piece under the small side. I used a dimensional and some Liquid Glue to add the ladybug to the card front. Then I finished it off with some From My Heart Faceted Gems – adhered with tiny dabs of Liquid Glue.
On the inside, I used my Stamparatus to add a second sentiment from Little Ladybug in Real Red on a Whisper White panel. Then I stamped another little ladybug in Tuxedo Black and colored it with my Real Red Stampin’ Blends Combo, Light Smoky Slate and Light Flirty Flamingo. I used my Stampin’ Blend Color Lifter to lighten the middle of her belly – to make her a little…rounder!
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Basic Black mat and into my Flirty Flamingo card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!
My Whisper White Medium Envelope got another ladybug on the front…
…and more of that gorgeous From My Heart Specialty DSP on the envelope flap!
Et Voila! This is such a pretty color combination and the beautiful foil-accented From My Heart Specialty DSP is all-in with it! I think we can all agree that the Little Ladybug stamp set – which you can get for FREE with a $300 order while Sale-A-Bration is going on! – is simply the cutest. And…with the pending addition of the Ladybug Dies? Oh my goodness!! I hope you like!

Use this host code when you order $50 or greater and receive a free gift from me! If your order is over $150, please do not use this code, but you’ll still get the free gift. The free gift is your choice of any item valued up to $10.00 in any active Catalog! That includes some of the Host Exclusive stamp sets! See my Rewards page for full details.
**Please note: Due to an increased number of orders that I’ve recently been receiving that have been in the $10-$20 range, I’ve had to change my host code reward to include only orders of $50+. Unfortunately, it’s not fair to those who are ordering $50+ and there are not enough host $$ generated from orders under $50 to cover the $10 gifts. Therefore, I won’t be able to continue to offer that bonus on every order. Thanks for your understanding!
