Stampin’ Up! Come to Gathered Leaves and Daisies

Hey y’all!  Hope the week is going well!

A little housekeeping….Online Extravaganza starts TO-morrow!  And only lasts for three days – so get ready to save!  And – I’ve got a Double Peppermint Rewards Ordering Special going on right now thru the 25th!  Whoo-hoo!

So – do y’all realize that Thanksgiving is just a smidge over a week away? Which means time to get busy with last minute Thanksgiving cards!  So…I did!

Last Friday, at Brian King’s Fall Stamp Along, I did a presentation on building collage cards.  For the card I demo’d but didn’t finish during the presentation, I used the Gather Together stamp set and bundled Gathered Leaves dies.  Plus (you KNEW there was a “plus”, right?!?) – some Beautiful Boughs, Frosted Bouquet and…Daisy Lane!  I finished it up and… take a look-see:

The layout for this one is from the wide-open sketch at CAS(E) This Sketch.

And it fits well with the TGIF Theme challenge.

I started with some wood-grain paper from the Come to Gather DSP that I matted on Merry Merlot for the card front.  I matted another strip of the DSP on Merry Merlot and added it across the bottom of the panel.

Using the Gathered Leaves dies, I cut several from Crushed Curry and Merry Merlot.  I also made a few that are inked – I pressed the dies into the Merry Merlot ink pad, then used the inky dies to cut and emboss on Crushed Curry.

Now for some “Plus”!  I cut a couple of Beautiful Boughs die cuts from Vellum card stock and colored the back with my Dark and Light Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Blends.  I also cut a few Frosted Bouquet Dies berries from Gold Glimmer paper.

I created a “mum” (-ish) with the Daisy Lane set.  I stamped the smaller flower image three times in Early Espresso on Crushed Curry.  Then I blended the ink slightly with a Blender Pen and punched them all out with the bundled Medium Daisy Punch.  I stacked them all up with Liquid Glue.

I started my collage by stamping the wheat image from Gather Together in Crushed Curry on the card front.  Then I used Liquid Glue to adhere the Beautiful Boughs, and the Gold Glimmer Frosted Bouquet berries.

The Gathered Leaves are adhered around with more Liquid Glue.  Then I pulled three strands from a piece of 5/8″ Burlap Ribbon and folded them into a loose “figure 8” – which I adhered in the middle of the leaves with Liquid Glue.

I made the sentiment my stamping the large leaf in Pumpkin Pie on Pumpkin Pie cardstock.  Then I stamped the sentiment over top in Merry Merlot and cut it with the matching die in Gathered Leaves.  I added the sentiment over top the looped burlap strands with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Finally – I added my “mum” with a Dimensional.  A Gold Faceted Gem and some Pumpkin Pie gems from the Holiday Rhinestones Basic Jewels finished it off!

On the inside, I added a second sentiment from Come To Gather in Merry Merlot on a Very Vanilla panel.  Over top I added the large leaf in stamped-off-once Pumpkin Pie.  I created a sticky note mask (stamping it on a sticky note and fussy cutting it).  I set the mask over the leaf and added the wheat image in stamped-off-once Crushed Curry.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Merry Merlot mat and into my Pumpkin Pie card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got the large leaf and wheat images in full strength Pumpkin Pie and Crushed Curry on the front…

…and a little more of the Come To Gather DSP on the envelope flap!

Et Voila!  This card showcases one of my favorite bundles – the Gather Together stamp set and Gathered Leaves Dies.  Plus, of course, the awesome Beautiful Boughs, Frosted Bouquet and the Daisy Lane bundle!  Wow – a LOT of wunnermus-ness all collage’d up on this one card!  I hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

Dog is blowing his coat.

Again.

Still? 🙂

No clue.  But…

…he’s being a little judge-y about me not brushing him enough!

I guess I can’t blame him…

…yes.  That IS a lot of your hair on the ground!

But…looking dapper now!

Quick.  Take my picture.  I’m gorgeous! 🙂

  1. Such a pretty card! So sad that I wasn’t able to see you present…bet that it was fantastic! 🙂 He’s getting rid of his “summer” hair, you know, that hair that he needs to stay hot in the summer. 😉

Missed you, bud. I MIGHT have yakked longer than I was supposed to – shocking and hard to believe, I know! 😉 I hadn’t thought of that. He’s changing to the warming fur versus the cooling fur! 🙂

  2. He certainly is gorgeous! And so is your card. Right up my alley. Love it.

Hi Mary….I started a post…..lost it I think…..maybe you will get two posts from me saying the card is gorgeous……I need to perfect doing wonderful layers like that as mine just sorta look ‘stacked’.
Finn is a gorgeous gentleman too!! He looks like he does know it. (smile)

  7. Kathy L

Yes, Finn, you are a gorgeous fellow! But give your mom some credit. That’s not an easy job.

Mary, what a beautiful card you’ve put together. I need a couple of cards for Thanksgiving, and seeing this, I know I’ll be casing you. A big thank you for the close-up of your focal point (old eyes appreciate it!).

Happy Thanksgiving to you, Wayne and Mr. Wonderful!

    • stampsnlingers

  8. Susan K

Another gorgeous collage card. Did Brian record the presentations that we could see yours? He chose the right person to demo that!
Handsome Finn. He still looks furry enough!

    • stampsnlingers

Yep – he’s got plenty of fur to make it thru the winter with ease! Thanks for the kind words, Susan. I don’t think Brian was video-taping! 🙁
