Stampin’ Up! Christmastime is Here Fun Fold Gift Card Holder

‘Sup, y’all!  How did the Fall-Back go for you?  It’s 7am here.  But really 8.  So – you should be wide-awake and perky!  Your dogs and cats and ponies are looking at you like – what the HECK!! – but…YOU got an extra hour of sleep.

Or…did you??!

Regardless – we’re in it now until Spring.  Bleh.

If you were able to join me last night for my Facebook Live video, I appreciate you spending part of your last evening in Daylight Savings Time with me!  If not, but you’d like to watch the replay – here ’tis on YouTube!

The project we did last night is quite timely, since we’re plunging headlong into Gift Card Giving Season (GCGS).  I like giving gift cards – I do! – but…they always seem a little like I phoned it in.  So…I feel BETTER about it if I can present them in a beautiful and/or clever gift card holder.  And this one is both!  With the gorgeous Christmas Rose stamp set and bundled Rose Dies, atop wunnermus Christmastime Is Here Specialty DSP.  Take a look-see:

My friend Sue did a similar fun-fold last week – you can see her card right here – and I just modified it a little bit to get the gift card holder portion on the inside!

I selected two coordinating patterns to use from the Christmastime is Here Specialty DSP – and both pieces are matted on Mossy Meadow throughout the card.

The card base itself is a piece of Poppy Parade cut at 4 1/4″ x 7 1/2″ and scored/folded at 2″.  Then the gift card holder – also Poppy Parade – is 3 1/2″ x 9″ that I scored and folded at 5″.

For the gift card holder itself, I first adhered a Mossy Meadow panel to the Poppy Parade panel – then (with Tear & Tape Adhesive), added another piece of Christmastime is Here Specialty DSP.  I used my Pretty Label Punch to cut a decorative “finger hold”.

The sentiment, from the Christmas Rose stamp set – is stamped in Poppy Parade on Whisper White. I used the fill-in image from the set to stamp the leaves/boughs in Mossy Meadow – and added a Soft Suede Pine Cone.

On the front is a stamped Christmas Rose.  I stamped the image in Mossy Meadow on Whisper White and cut it with the matching die in the Rose Die set.  Then I used my Light and Dark Mossy Meadow, Poppy Parade and Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends and my Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Write Marker to color it.

I adhered the die cut rose with Liquid Glue – letting part of it hang over the left edge of the gift card holder.  Then I added a few Gold Glitter Enamel Dots and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more Christmas Rose boughs and cones on the front…

…and a little more of the Christmastime is Here Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.

Et voila!  I love this fun-fold – it’s really easy to do and makes quick work of creating a wowza Gift Card Holder for GCGS!  And the Christmas Rose and bundled Rose Dies are a wonderful way to decorate it, with help from the beautiful Christmastime is Here Specialty DSP!  I hope you like – and will make some of your own!

Finn Fan Fix

On Saturday, we fixed fence.  It’s time to move the girls off the back pasture so we can seed it for winter grass – which means they need to be able to go in the front pasture.

Also – the back is getting pretty sparse – which Cady made VERY clear to us when she jumped out of the pasture – twice! – to roam around the barn grazing.

Yep.  Time to fix fence!

So – that’s what we did.  With Finn’s help, of course.  He is QUITE the ranch hand!  And the weather – a little chilly for us but perfect for fur-balls – was just his cuppa tea!  He was ready to ROLL!!

Now – to be honest – there’s a pretty limited set of fence-repair tasks that a four-legged-thumbless person can actually do.

A lot of it is….moral support and watching for interlopers!

Scouting for deer tracks…

Oh – you can’t see him?  Yea – he’s off in the woods “looking”…

While Wayne and I took down broken boards and put up replacements…

…he was working on getting rid of debris.  One.  Stick.  At.  A.  Time.

Everyone has a niche…

At one point, he managed to get a very short ZOOOOM thru the pond – which then made him ZZZZZZOOOOOOOMMMMM around us for a minute – until he claimed the pond rock as his own.

By the end of the afternoon, when I came in to start on dinner and get ready for my Saturday video, my furry ranch-hand was plum tuckered.  He ate his breakfast, got a drink and…

Crashed – until it was time to feed the ponies!

A good day’s work – but that fencing and ranch-handing is hard work, y’all! 🙂

  1. I didn’t have to read through your instruction post because I watched, so, you know what I did, don’t you! Yep, skipped right to the FFF and was totally delighted with your narration. I will watch the video again because I was totally delighted with that too! I need to get some GCC’s in my stash for the bartenders at the Pub tomorrow. Have a great day and be blessed.

Thanks, Karen – glad you were able to watch the video!! And gift cards for your friends at the pub sounds wonderful and I know they’ll appreciate them! 🙂

  2. You overwork that furry fella! My goodness, he is REALLY plum tuckered. Anyone would be happy to get a gift card in such lovely packaging. I may be reduced to gift cards this year. As for getting more sleep, by my reckoning, I got less. Either way, I hop they just leave the clocks alone.

It was the first really cool day we spent outside and he was overjoyed. So he spent a LOT of time racing here, there and everywhere. Sort of self-tuckering…. 🙂 I still woke up at 5. Which was 6. So…I guess I “slept in”?? LOL! Thanks so much, Julie! 🙂

  3. Such a pretty card! Love the double card design for your gift card holder! It is a rough life that Finn has…he’s a busy guy for sure! 🙂

A ranch-hands day is long, no doubt!! 🙂 Thanks, Amy! 🙂

I enjoy the end of your post with Finn . Have a dog and I see so much in common with your dog.

  5. Beautiful card, Mary! Love how you added the “pocket” for a gift card. It’s perfect!

    • stampsnlingers

Thanks much, Sue – appreciate the inspiration your card gave me! 🙂

  6. Claudia Ingram

    You’re the BEST, Finn!
