Stampin’ Up! Perennial Floral Essence Birthday!

Hey guys!  It’s the start of another week!  I’ve got a Fun FUn FUN day planned!  I get to take the van for an oil change.

AND – a tire rotation!

Ahhh – retired life is so so glamorous! 😉

My card today is all from the Annual Catalog – no Christmas or Holiday Catalog in sight!

Yep – I used the gorgeous Perennial Essence suite of goodies – the Floral Essence stamp set and bundled Perennial Flower Punch, plus some Perennial Essence DSP and the Itty Bitty Birthdays stamp set, to make a pretty birthday card!  Take a look-see!

The layout for this one is from this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

And it fits perfectly with the Global Design Project challenge, too!

I started with a piece of gorgeous Perennial Essence DSP that I matted on Old Olive card stock for the card front.

Using SNAIL, I adhered a length of Petal Pink 5/8″ Organdy Striped Ribbon, then some 5/8″ Burlap Ribbon, and finally a piece of Very Vanilla 3/8″ Scalloped Lace Trim.

On a piece of Old Olive, I stamped the leaves image from Floral Essence twice in Mossy Meadow and punched them out with the Leaf Punch.  I adhered the leaves to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I took a piece of Linen Thread and some of the Mossy Meadow Linen Thread (from the Magnolia Lane Ribbon Combo Pack) – tied a large, loose bow – and adhered it with a couple of Glue Dots.

On some Petal Pink card stock, I stamped the flower from Floral Essence twice in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and punched them with the bundled Perennial Flower Punch.

I stamped the sentiment from Itty Bitty Birthdays in Mossy Meadow on a strip of Whisper White – bannerized the end with my Paper Snips, and adhered it with Liquid Glue.

Using my Light and Dark Petal Pink Stampin’ Blends Markers, I colored the petals.  Then I curled them lightly with my Bone Folder and adhered them together to create the flower.  I adhered it over the bow with Liquid Glue.  Then I popped on a Perennial Essence Floral Center.

I finished off with a few Old Olive gems from the Noble Peacock Rhinestone pack and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped a Floral Essence sentiment in Mossy Meadow on a Whisper White panel.  Over that, I added a flower in Petal Pink, with a So Saffron center.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to an Old Olive mat and into my Petal Pink card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got another Floral Essence flower on the front…

…and a little more of the Perennial Essence DSP on the envelope flap!

Et Voila!  I am always astounded at the sheer beauty of the Perennial Essence DSP and the coordinating Floral Essence Bundle just plays off it so perfectly, don’t you think?  I hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

This weekend, my Dad worked outside.

Look at what he did.  All by himself – he leaves me in the house with Mom, just to be sure I don’t get squooshed!

That big ole tree was dead and thinkin’ on falling on our house!

Tree-faller-downer and Reindeer sewer-upper.

Isn’t he just the bestest Dad ever?!?

  1. Finn needs to fess up…it wasn’t really cuz his dad didn’t want him to get smooshed so much, it was because there was a big CAT outside and he really is afraid of cats…lol. Now, on to your card…I’m so glad I have this bundle now so I can CASE your card! I love the design, the colors, the embellishments and did I mention the DSP? Oh, that and Pressed Petals are my faves. Have a great week and fun at the mechanic’s today.

Yep – a big ole YELLOW CAT!! Finn’s no dummy – he picks on things his own size. Or SMALLER!! 🙂 Thanks much, Karen – happy CASEing! 🙂

  2. Janelle

Love the card and yes Finn you have the bestest Dad!

  3. What a pretty card! The colors and layering are just perfect! Glad that Finn got to watch the tree knock-down event from the safety of the house. Glad that all went as planned and the tree fell next to the house instead of on it! 🙂

  4. Susan K

Boy, that’s a serious machine…I’d be stayin inside too! Smart Finn! His Dad is multitalented! I love your card. That paper grew on me and I love it even more on your card.

Yep – it means business and gets the job done, for sure. And yes – Wayne can do pretty much anything he sets his mind to! It’s actually a little annoying sometimes! 😉 Thanks much, Susan! 🙂

  5. This is such a pretty combination of colours! I love that you’ve used this pretty DSP and taken the colours from it for the details. Thanks for joining us at FMS this week!

Beautiful card Mary! I think that dsp is my favorite.
