Stampin’ Up! Seashells By The Bay

Good morning!  Welcome back to the work week.

My By The Bay card today is one I wasn’t sure was ever going to do how I wanted it to do.  Especially after I did the inner liner and realized I’d made it in the portrait orientation.  Which was perfectly acceptable, except my card was in landscape, so…that pretty much wasn’t going to cut it!  But – I finally got it done – and I think it turned out pretty much how I thought it would.  Take a look-see:

Many of the elements for this one were inspired by The Card Concept photo this week!

I started with a piece of Wood Textures DSP – it’s the whitewashed design – and colored it with my Light Pool Party Stampin’ Blend.

Next, I stamped the large image from By The Bay in Soft Suede, up in the left corner of the paper, then I cut the image out with a Rectangle Stitched Framelit.

I matted both pieces on So Saffron using Liquid Glue, then I adhered the smaller panel to the card front, right over top of the hole left from cutting out the image.

At this point, I realized I was out of that white-washed Wood Textures DSP, so I pulled out some Whisper White card stock.  Using my Stamparatus, I inked up the Hardwood stamp with Crumb Cake and stamped it off twice, then stamped the card stock.  I colored it with the Light Pool Party Blend.

I stamped the shells image in Crumb Cake and added the sentiment in Soft Suede – using the Stamparatus – then I cut it out with my 1 3/4″ Circle punch.  I matted it on a So Saffron Stitched Shapes Framelits circle.

With Glue Dots, I added a length of 5/8″ Burlap Trim to the card front, then popped my sentiment over top with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I adhered a Corrugated Element and Double Loop Linen Thread bow with Glue Dots – and the card front was done!

I created the wood-look inner liner in the same way I’d done the sentiment, stamping off the Hardwood image twice in Crumb Cake then stamping my Whisper White card stock panel.  I colored the paper with my Light Pool Party Stampin’ Blend.  The sentiment is added in Soft Suede over top of Crumb Cake Shells.  I used the Stamparatus and stamped the sentiment twice to darken it a little more.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a So Saffron mat and into my Pool Party card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got another Crumb Cake shell on the front…

…and on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I really love these line-drawn images in the By The Bay stamp set.  They can be left as just the sketches or colored with Blends, Markers or Watercolor Pencils!  So many options for you!  I hope you like!
