Stampin’ Up! Lasting Lily and Botanical Butterflies Sneak Peek

Happy Saturday, my peeps!  Did y’all brave the elements – and the crazy crowds! – to hit the Black Friday sales?  I sure didn’t!  We stay pretty hunkered down on Black Friday – I hate the traffic and Wayne has zero tolerance for them (cars or people!).  So…we stay home and shop the old fashioned way.

Online! LOL!

You guys did a little Online Extravaganza shopping yesterday, I saw!  Yeah!  There’s still today left for the Paper & Embellishments sale and then we’ll segue over into two days of Phase 2: Stamps & Kits!  Then there’s two more days after THAT (Tools & Ink)!  And – of course, thru the whole event, I’m offering Double Peppermints.  So…it’s a most wonderful time….of the YEAAAAAAR!

Now – on a slightly different tack, my card for today features some new goodies that will be available starting on 3 Jan 19 with the Occasions and Sale-A-Bration catalogs!  Lasting Lily is a wonderful 16-stamp set in the Sale-A-Bration flyer – that you’ll be able to pick up for free with a $100 purchase!  And I tapped into the wonderful Hold on to Hope stamp set and Cross of Hope Framelits from the Annual Catalog.  Take a look-see:

I started this one with some Daffodil Delight paper from the new Gingham Gala 6″ x 6″ DSP (coming 3 Jan in the Occasions catalog).  I cut an oval (3 1/4″) with my Stitched Shapes Framelits and then matted it on Granny Apple Green for the card front.  I used Liquid Glue to mat the panel – and didn’t use glue around the edges of the oval (so I could stick elements inside later!).

For the flowers, I inked the beautiful Lillies in the Lasting Lily set with Grapefruit Grove and used my Stamparatus to stamp them on Whisper White.  I added stems in Lemon Lime Twist, with some sponged Garden Green.  To do that – I inked the image with the Lemon Lime Twist as “usual”, then I used a Sponge Dauber to add some Garden Green to the edges.

I also inked and stamped some leaves.  Then I fussy cut everything.

I put Stampin’ Dimensionals under the flowers and stuck the stems inside the oval, with a little Liquid Glue on them.  I added the leaves with Liquid Glue, too.

I cut the pretty detailed cross with the Cross of Hope Framelits die from Gold Foil and adhered it with Liquid Glue (sliding one arm under one of the flowers).

The sentiment, from Lasting Lily, is stamped in Granny Apple Green ink on Granny Apple Green card stock and cut with the Pretty Label Punch.  I added “faux stitches” with my Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Write Marker.  Then I added Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back and used them to wind loops of Gold Metallic Thread, then popped the sentiment onto the card front.

I used the new Butterfly Duet Punch (2019 Occasions Catalog) to punch a flurry of butterflies from one of the DSP designs in the new Botanical Butterfly DSP (available with a $50 purchase in the 2019 Sale-A-Bration Catalog) and then adhered them hither-and-yon with Liquid Glue.  I added a Share What You Love Artisan Pearl and the card front was done.

On the inside, I did a double liner.  Both sentiments, one from Lasting Lily and the other from the Hold on to Hope stamp set, are stamped in Granny Apple Green, then I added a “splatter” image from Lasting Lily in stamped-off-once Grapefruit Grove.  Then I stamped the butterfly from Hold on to Hope in Full-strength Grapefruit Grove.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere both panels to Granny Apple Green mats and into my Grapefruit Grove card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got a stamped-off-once “splatter” in Grapefruit Grove and a couple of full-strength butterflies on the front…

…and more Daffodil Delight paper from the Gingham Gala 6″ x 6″ DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I hate having to make these kinds of cards – but I’m always grateful to have the right tools when I do need them.  Lasting Lily is going to be a wonderful set for these sorts of cards as well as cards of appreciation (thanks to the variety of sentiments!).  I know it’ll be one that you’re going to want to have in your tool box come January! Hope you like!

I’m just assuming you’ve already GOT the Hold on to Hope stamp set and the Cross of Hope Framelits!  If not – you can pick them up right now in the Annual Catalog!

Stamp-N-Storage Small Business Saturday Specials!

PAPER PUMPKIN IS SOLD OUT FOR DECEMBER

Due to record numbers of kits sold in the past several months, new subscriptions for Paper Pumpkin are closed for the month of December.

What this means . . .

New customers will not be able to subscribe until December 11, 2018 and will receive their first kit in January.

Current subscribers will still be able to manage their accounts via the regular login process. However, they will NOT be able to add additional December kits to their order. We strongly recommend that all subscribers check their account information to ensure that their account is up-to-date. Due to inventory levels, we cannot guarantee a second billing.

Canceled subscribers can still return, but after November 21 at 5:00 PM (MT), they will receive December’s kit based on availability; additionally, if kits are available, returning subscribers will only be allowed one kit.

If we are unable to fulfill orders for returning subscribers (as noted above), we will notify you on the billing date (December 11, 2018). Your subscription will be automatically suspended and you will not be billed for December. These subscriptions will automatically resume in January unless the account status is changed to “canceled.”

The Paper Pumpkin subscription program is as popular as it has ever been and we are experiencing strong growth. In order to avoid missing out on our amazing kits, the best way to avoid disappointment is to subscribe and remain active in the program.

Finn Fan Fix

Finn spent most of the day sleeping.  On the carpet.  In the hallway.  On the sofa.

It was cold and nasty outside – even for a big ole Aussie.

While he snoozed – we did a little decorating!

He wasn’t all that impressed with the results of our efforts. 😉

P.S.  Yes, I’m aware that the bottom of the tree is a little bare of ornaments.  By design, people. By.  Design.

Cuz…

And…

  1. Ah, yes, by design…I totally get it and understand. Some kittahs are not satisfied unless they climb up the tree inside 🙂 I can attest to how beautiful this card is in person…truly a work of heart. Thank you.

    • stampsnlingers

True that! Fortunately, picking ornaments off is about Katie’s speed these days! 🙂 Thanks, Karen – glad that you liked it! 🙂

  2. Cats. Dogs. Small children. All good reasons to leave the bottom of the tree rather, well, NEKID!
This card is stunningly gorgeous. I love the Cross of Hope set and use it often, and I think I will HAVE to get those lilies to use with it. Very creative and a wonderful card for anyone going through a loss.

    • stampsnlingers

Thanks, Julie – I love hoe the gold cross looked nestled in the lillies! 🙂

  3. Kate

Another beautiful card with a wonderful message!
So glad your tree is up. And it is beautiful. 😆

  4. Such a pretty card! The colors and design are perfect for a sympathy card. And Finn is not impressed with your decorating because you kept all of the good stuff out of his reach. If you’d let him “help” with the ornaments now and then, he’d be much more excited about seeing the tree go up. 😉

    • stampsnlingers

I know. He’s such a helper! Thank goodness he doesn’t have thumbs! Thanks, Amy! 🙂

  5. Kathy Fennell

What a beautiful Sympathy card you made Mary. Love everything about it. Will have to watch for the lily stamp set come Jan. Very pretty tree even with its bare bottom 🙂

    • stampsnlingers

Yes – it’s a beautiful set!! And pretty easy to get for free! Winner winner! Thanks much, Kathy! 🙂
