Stampin’ Up! Baker’s Boxes for Fall and Halloween!

Hey y’all!  Welcome to Monday – and the work week.

What a downer-way to start a blog post, huh?  Sorry! 🙁

Let me give you a more-fun bit of news!  Stampin’ Up! let us know there’s been a big refresh in the Clearance Rack – so be sure to check it out.  AND – Fast Fuse is AVAILABLE while supplies last at a huge DISCOUNT!!  Don’t wait if you need Fast Fuse – check it out below and get it while it lasts!

So – if you were able to join me last night for my Facebook Live video – thanks.  I hope you had a good time – it was sort of fun designing on the fly as a group, wasn’t it?  If you didn’t get to watch, but would like to see the fun after-the-fact, here’s the Memorex on YouTube!

The sneak peek I gave you yesterday was a Baker’s Box that I’d colored using Stampin’ Spritzers and Mango Melody and Pumpkin Pie Classic Ink Refills.  The video shows how I did that!

For the sample box, I used the cool Tin Tile Dynamic TIEF and the new Country Home bundle to decorate it after I was thru coloring it.  Take a look-see:

On last night’s video, we decorated our colored box using elements from the Cauldron Bubble Bundle!

The video explains the coloring process – so take a quick gander at that!

Decorating the sides of the boxes was the same for each design.  In both cases, I matted either an embossed card stock panel or a piece of the Toil & Trouble DSP on a color coordinating mat and then adhered them to the sides with Liquid Glue.  On the front panel, I punched a half-circle with my 3/4″ Circle Punch.

From there, it was a matter of “frosting the cake”!  Each box started with some Chicken Wire Elements, snipped down and adhered with Liquid Glue.

I cut several images from the Toil & Trouble DSP using their dies in the Cauldron Framelits to decorate the Halloween Box – as well as two spider webs from Black Foil.  I also punched a Black Foil bat with the Spooky Bats punch!

The sides of the Fall box are Crumb Cake card stock, embossed in the Tin Tile Dynamic TIEF, then lightly sponged with Soft Suede ink.  The sentiment banner is an image from the Country Home stamp set, stamped on Crumb Cake in Early Espresso.  I colored the cotton balls with my White Watercolor Pencil and snipped a banner end.

I stamped the sentiment in Cajun Craze on a thinner strip of Crumb Cake and bannerized it, too.  Then I adhered it to the larger banner with a little Liquid Glue and slid a Galvanized Clip on the left end.

I wrapped some 3/16″ Braided Linen Trim around the box and tied a knot on the top.  Then I added a Linen Thread Billie-bow and a second “regular” bow with the Braided Trim.  Then I slid the sentiment banner under the bow and secured it in place with a Glue Dot under the Galvanzied Clip.

And that was it, folks!  These new Baker’s Boxes are perfectly sized for a deluxe donut or a few gourmet cookies.  Or…candy!  Or…whatever!  And you can just decorate them to your heart’s content!  Fall – with the Country Home Bundle – would be perfect!  And Halloween is almost here!  Cauldron Bubble and a little Toil & Trouble make super fun treat boxes!  Hope you like!

FAST FUSE ADDED TO CLEARANCE RACK (WHILE SUPPLIES LAST)

Fast Fuse Adhesive

If you’re like us, you thought the days of Fast Fuse were done at Stampin’ Up! (You know . . . because we had already retired the product and everything!) However, our vendor reached out to us because they manufactured a surplus of Fast Fuse applicators and refills, and they offered to sell their excess Fast Fuse inventory to us. We took them up on their offer and purchased 2,500 Fast Fuse applicators and 72,000 Fast Fuse refills.

One of the reasons SU! decided to buy this product was because of feedback they received letting them know that some of you still wanted to purchase Fast Fuse applicators and refills, and this was the perfect opportunity to make it available once again through the Clearance Rack. Fast Fuse refills will be available to you for more than 50% off their original price! Because supplies are limited, you should go right to the online store to place your order instead of waiting to place a workshop order.  These’ll go fast, y’all!

See what I did there?  You’re welcome.

Get them right now while they last!  Order direct thru my Online Store with these links! 🙂

Finn Fan Fix

On Sunday, I was walking from the bedroom back to the kitchen.

And I noticed Finn.

Sleeping.

Finn sleeping is not unusual.

This, though.

THIS…

These are just things that make you scratch your head and think…wait…what?!?

  1. Finn obviously feel more protected from the witch, bat, cat and especially the cauldron! It was a fun night.

    • stampsnlingers

Yea – it really was! I may have to do that more often! Whatcha think?!? Thanks, Karen! 🙂

  2. Funny Finn! Loved the video. Great design 😉
Thanks for the spritzing tips. Messy, yes, but oh! so much fun. Brings out the kid in all of us I guess.

    • stampsnlingers

Yes – it’s fun to watch it dry and see what it’s going to end up looking like! Thanks, Julie – glad you were on last night! See you in a couple of days! 🙂

  3. Kate

Omigosh…that is the cutest little box EVER!!!
The Finn…hmmm. Guess, for a minute at least, he was cool enough to seek a den, of sorts. Just when we think we have them figured out…

    • stampsnlingers

Right?! They are perpetual mysteries! Of course HE knew what he was doing all along! Thanks, Mom – they’re great little boxes! 🙂

  4. Definitely a fun video last night! Love the way that both of the treat boxes turned out. Perfect for Halloween, fall and Thanksgiving! And Finn…well, it looked like a good spot for a busy guy to lay down for a minute…and then once you’re down, well, sometimes you fall asleep for a minute or two too. 😉

    • stampsnlingers

LOL! Yes, I’m sure he was just taking a second to rest on his way to somewhere important! When the need to rest overcomes you…what ARE you going to do?!? Thanks, Amy! Last night was FUN! 🙂

  5. Maryanne Willequer

Mary, I have to say that last night’s live presentation was SO MUCH FUN! I haven’t laughed like that in ages. The interplay between you and all of us viewers was hilarious. I love watching you create something cool every week, and just wanted you to know how much I appreciate your gift of creativity to all of us. Thanks!

    • stampsnlingers

Oh. That is so sweet of you to say, Maryanne! I really appreciate that. I had the BEST time last night – and am REALLy glad that you did, too! 🙂

  6. Judi Burkhalter

Hi Mary! Just getting a chance to watch last night’s video. Love these boxes! Thanks for the demo on coloring the boxes. I’ve been afraid to try. Can you tell me how you decided on 1/2 water/ 1/2 alcohol? And then why all alcohol in the spritzer when you used the glimmer paint?

I was happy to see you pull out your bow making contraption. I have one too but still can’t make a bow with it. Maybe if I watch you enough times, I’ll figure it out 🙂

    • stampsnlingers

Hey Judi – glad you enjoyed the video! How did I decide…well…I looked online to see what folks were doing and some did all water – some did half and half…so, I picked half and half and it worked so I stuck with it. Used the same rigorous research methodology for the Shimmer Paint! 😉 But – I just saw today in this Quarter’s Stampin’ Success that you can use water OR alcohol for the shimmer paint. So – there you go! Play with it and have fun! And – good luck with the Bow Easy. It just has a bit of a learning curve! Thanks, Judi! 🙂
