Good morning and happy Sunday – hope your weekend is going well! 🙂
Today’s card is number five in my Twelve Saturdays of Christmas Cards – and it’s a cool fun fold! This pop-out easel card gave me a chance to showcase some holly-strewn Timeless Christmas DSP and the Festive Cheer Bundle! Take a look-see:
I started with a 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ piece of Secret Sea cardstock that I scored at 2 1/8″ and 4 1/4″. I folded both score lines as valleys.
I matted two 1 7/8″ x 5 1/4″ pieces of Timeless Christmas DSP on Basic White panels and adhered them to the two front panels with Liquid Glue.
For the inside, I stamped a Festive Cheer sentiment in Poppy Parade ink on a 3 1/8″ x 5 3/8″ piece of Basic White cardstock. In the top corner, I stamped a Festive Cheer ornament and string in Secret Sea. The fill is stamped in Pool Party and then I added a Poppy Parade bow from the stamp set.
Using Liquid Glue, I adhered it to the inside of the card base – leaving a normal reveal on the left side, top and bottom.
I matted a 3/4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Timeless Christmas DSP on Basic White and adhered it to the remaining portion of the back panel using Stampin’ Dimensionals – that’s the easel stop!
For the front, I used the next-to-largest dot-dash edged Tile Garden die to cut out a Secret Sea square. Using the next-to-smallest crimped-edge Tile Garden die, I cut the middle out of the square – making a frame.
I used the next-to-largest crimped edge Tile Garden die to cut out a Basic White square. In the bottom corner, I stamped a Festive Cheer sentiment in Poppy Parade ink.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the sentiment to the Secret Sea frame – tipping the frame up into a diamond.
Using the dies in the Festive Cheer set, I cut out:
– Three boughs from Peaceful Pine 2026-2028 In Color Pearlized Paper
– Three branches from gold Timeless Metallic Specialty Paper
– Three ornament hangars from gold Timeless Metallic Specialty Paper
– A couple of “strings” from gold Timeless Metallic Specialty Paper
– Three little bows from red Timeless Metallic Specialty Paper
– Five Secret Sea cardstock berry clusters
Using Liquid Glue, I adhered the branches to the pine boughs and then to the white square.
On Basic White cardstock, I stamped three ornaments in Secret Sea ink and the fill images in Pool Party ink. Then I cut them all out with the coordinating Festive Cheer dies.
I adhered a little die cut ornament hangar to the top of each ornament with a little Liquid Glue. Two of the ornaments got a short piece of the gold “string”, too.
Then I adhered the ornaments – with a Stampin’ Dimensional behind each one – and a little Liquid Glue for the “string”.
Then I added the three bows and the five berry clusters with Liquid Glue.
I added some Secret Sea Dewdrops Embellishments – and it was time to add the pop-up to the card front!
Using two 1/2″ x 2″ strips of Basic White cardstock – each folded in half – I adhered them to the back of the square with Liquid Glue with the folded ends butting up to each other.
I put Liquid Glue on the exposed side of the strips…
…and used them to adhere the square to the center fold of the card front and the card was done! 🤔 Hmmm – prolly checking the video (Part 2 in particular!) for this part would make it easier!
With it all assembled – the card front tucks into the easel stop and…the card stands up nicely!
My Basic White Medium Envelope got several ornaments and bows on the front…
…and more Timeless Christmas DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! This Pop Out Easel card is a cute way to display the pretty foliage and Christmas decorations from the Festive Cheer bundle – don’t you think!? And the Timeless Christmas DSP – with it’s Peaceful Pine and Poppy Parade color palette – is about as Christmas-y as can be! So fun!
