Happy half-way-thru-the-weekend, y’all! Hope it’s going well and that you haven’t just melted into a puddle!
Today’s card features one of my very favorite new Suites – the Sunflower Fields suite – with it’s amazing Sunflower Fields DSP and the Radiant Sunflowers bundle. I mean. Who doesn’t love sunflowers!? And – it’s a super easy fun fold, too! Take a look-see:
I started with a 5 1/2″ x 7 1/4″ piece of Early Espresso cardstock that I scored and folded at 4 1/4″.
Yup.
That’s it. The “fun fold”! 🙂
I took two 1″ wide strips of Two-tone Cardstock – one in Pecan Pie and one in Golden Glow. I tore a narrow strip off of each one – both with their dark sides up.
Using Liquid Glue – I adhered the Golden Glow strip to the Pecan Pie strip. Then I adhered them to the card front with Liquid Glue. Note: I made them longer than the finished length of 5 1/2″ – so…once they were on the card front, I trimmed the excess with a pair of Detail Scissors.
I matted a 2 5/8″ x 5 3/8″ piece of Sunflower Fields DSP on Mossy Meadow and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.
Using the next-to-smallest die in the Scalloped Christmas Cheer Dies, I cut out a piece of Pecan Pie Sunflower Fields DSP.
On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped a Radiant Sunflowers sentiment in Early Espresso ink and cut it out with the label die in the Radiant Sunflowers set – cheating the sentiment to the RIGHT edge of the die cut.
Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment to the die cut DSP mat and then adhered the label to the card front – using adhesive only on the left side.
I stamped the little leaf from Radiant Sunflowers three times in Mossy Meadow ink on Basic White. I colored them with the Light Old Olive Stampin’ Blend and cut them out with the coordinating die in the set.
I cut out a small Radiant Sunflowers flower from Golden Glow 2026-2028 In Color Pearlized Paper and a large flower center from the Pecan Pie Sunflower Fields DSP. Using a Stampin’ Dimensional, I adhered the flower center to the flower.
With a piece of Tear & Tape, I adhered a loop-d-loop of new Mossy Meadow & Very Vanilla 1/4″ Gingham Ribbon to the back of the flower.
Then I adhered it to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I tucked the little leaves in and secured them with Liquid Glue. Finally, I added some Old Olive Radiant Gems and the card front was done.
For the inside, I used Liquid Glue to adhere a 1 1/2″ x 5 3/8″ piece of Sunflower Fields DSP to the right side of the inside panel of the card base – leaving a normal reveal on the top – bottom – and right side.
On a 2 1/2″ x 5 3/8″ piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped a second Radiant Sunflowers sentiment in Early Espresso. In each corner, I stamped the flower from the set in Early Espresso. I colored the flower with the Light and Dark Golden Glow and Light Pecan Pie Stampin’ Blends.
I adhered the panel to the left inside and the card was done!
My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Radiant Sunflowers flower on the front…
…and more of the Sunflower Fields DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! Well – I really LOVE the Sunflower Fields DSP – the flowers with all the colors of Fall – are just stunning! And the coordinating Radiant Sunflowers bundle is simply the perfect complement, don’t you?!! I KNOW sunflowers grow in the summer but this Suite just makes me so ready for FALL!
