Good morning and happy Fri-Yay! I’ve been watching coverage of the Great American State Fair on television and am sort of wishing we were going to go this weekend – it looks like a great time! Looks like the state exhibits are pretty cool – using lots of virtual reality to give a peek at some of the sights and sounds in each state!! How about you? Do you have any fun plans for the weekend? 🙂
Today’s card is a super cool fun fold – it’s called a flying seagull and – I think you’re going to like it. I’ve decorated THIS one with wunnermus new Violet Dreams DSP and the coordinating Framed Violets bundle. BOTH of which you’re going to be able to get in LESS than a week, on 1 July when the new Online Exclusives go live for customers. Take a look-see:
Right? COOL fun fold!!
This one starts with two 4 1/4″ x 8 1/4″ pieces of Peaceful Pine cardstock. I used my Paper Trimmer to score both pieces at 2 1/4″, 4″ and 6 1/4″.
I folded and burnished both pieces as shown.
Here’s what it looks like.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere a 2 1/8″ x 4 1/8″ piece of Violet Dreams DSP (white with the violet images) to the first and last panels of the card bases – these are the ones by the 2 1/4″ folds. Then I adhered two 1 5/8″ x 4 1/8″ pieces of the DSP (Fresh Freesia with tiny flowers) on the next two panels.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere a 4 1/8″ x 4 1/8″ piece of striped Violet Dreams DSP (get this on 1 July) to a 4 1/4″ x 4 1/4″ piece of Peaceful Pine cardstock.
I butted the two card bases up against each other – at the 6 1/4″ folds – and used Liquid Glue to adhere the square to both sides.
Note: this would be a great time to take a gander at the video!! Look at about the 7 minute mark for this step! :
With the front pop-up in place, I stamped the small Framed Violets floral in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink in the bottom left corner of a 2 1/8″ x 4 1/8″ piece of Basic White cardstock. I colored it with my Light and Dark Fresh Freesia and Light Peaceful Pines Stampin’ Blends. I added a Lemon Lolly dot from the Array of Dots pack to the center of the flower.
On a second 2 1/8″ x 4 1/8″ piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped a Framed Violets sentiment in Peaceful Pine ink.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere each panel to the back of the card base.
For the front, I stamped the large, scalloped oval image from Framed Violets to stamp a Hydrangea Hue oval on a piece of Basic White cardstock – then I cut it out with the coordinating die in the set.
Using the smaller, smooth edged, oval, I cut out a piece of striped Violet Dreams DSP and adhered it to the scalloped oval with Liquid Glue.
I used the dies in the set to cut out a Peaceful Pine cardstock stem, two Peaceful Pine 2026-2028 In Color Pearlized Paper leaves and two Hydrangea Hue 2026-2028 In Color Pearlized Paper flowers.
Using Liquid Glue, I adhered them to the matted oval.
On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the larger Framed Violets floral in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. I colored it with the Light and Dark Fresh Freesia and Light Peaceful Pines Stampin’ Blends. I outlined the image with the Light Hydrangea Hue Stampin’ Blend and cut it out with the coordinating die in the set. Then I added Lemon Lolly dots from the Array of Dots set to the middles of the flowers.
I adhered the die cut floral to the oval with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
On the back of the oval, I used Stampin’ Seal to adhere a loop-d-loop of Peaceful Pine 3/8″ Bordered Ribbon. Then I adhered the oval to the square pop-up panel with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I stamped a Framed Violets sentiment in Peaceful Pine ink on a piece of Basic White cardstock. I cut it out with a Stylish Shapes banner die and adhered it with Liquid Glue and Stampin’ Dimensionals – and the card was done!
My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Framed Violets floral in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink – colored with the Light and Dark Fresh Freesia and Light Peaceful Pines Stampin’ Blends – on the front…
…and more of the Violet Dreams DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! This is such a cool fun fold – and “flying seagull”?? – even the NAME is cool! It’s not the easiest one I’ve ever shared with you but…it’s a LONG way from the hardest!! I do hope you’ll try it! You can decorate it however you like, but…the Violet Dreams DSP and coordinating Framed Violets bundle is so pretty – I really think you should grab it next week and use IT! 🙂
I hope you like! 🙂

I know. I share a similar photo just every once in a while.
But I can’t help it very much.
It’s just one of his cutest things!
