Stampin’ UP! Scenic Coast Arches & Banners Joy Fold Card with Video

Hey guys – happy Sunday!  We got up a little early today and headed back to Seattle – it’s a minute from Port Ludlow to the Bainbridge Ferry terminal and we wanted to get to the other side and to the airport to drop off our car!  Then it’s to the hotel in preparation for embarkation (don’t you LOVE that word?!  It’s SO much better than DE-barkation! 🫤) tomorrow!  And this afternoon we’re meeting some friends for lunch in Seattle.  Doesn’t get much better than that, right?!

Today’s card is – unintentionally! – evocative of where we are this week!  It’s features the wunnermus new Scenic Coast Specialty DSP and the coordinating Sunset Coast bundle.  Everyday Arches and the Banner Sayings bundle complete the picture for a pretty fun fold card to send to a friend!  Take a look-see:

This is a cool take on a Joy Fold card that I saw Colleen Baker make on her JustBStamping site!  I loved it enough to want to make one of my own – and this Scenic Coast suite worked a treat!

I started with a 4 1/4″ x 8 1/2″ piece of Blueberry Bushel cardstock that I scored on the long edge at 3″ – that’s the main card base.

For the fun inside, I scored and folded a 5 1/4″ x 8″ piece of Balmy Blue cardstock at 4″ – to make a “regular” landscape tent card.  I used Liquid Glue to adhere a piece of Scenic Coast Specialty DSP to the front of the card base.

I adhered it to the inside of the Blueberry Bushel card base using Liquid Glue.

For the front – I matted a 2 5/8″ x 3 7/8″ piece of Scenic Coast Specialty DSP on Balmy Blue and adhered it to the front of the smaller panel on the main card base.

Using the Second Largest Everyday Arches die, I cut out a piece of the Night of Navy cardstock.  From that, I used the lighthouse die in the Sunset Coast Bundle to cut out the image.

I also used the die in the set to cut out the three Night of Navy birds.

I used the same die to cut out a piece of Strawberry Slush paper from the Scenic Coast Specialty DSP.  Note.  this piece is going to show when the card is opened, so…I cut from the paper such that the scene would be “pretty” – it also closely continues the “horizon”….

Using Liquid Glue, I adhered the DSP die cut to the back of the Night of Navy die cut.  Then I adhered the three flying birds with Liquid Glue.

I used the die in the Sunset Coast bundle to cut out the two picket fence pieces from Basic White cardstock and adhered them with Liquid Glue.

I stamped the Banner Sayings sentiment in Strawberry Slush on a piece of Basic White cardstock and cut it out with the bundled Three Banner Punch.

I adhered the sentiment to the arched panel with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Using Liquid Glue on just the RIGHT half of the back of the arched die – I adhered it to the side panel of the card base.

For the inside, I stamped two sentiments from Sunset Coast – one in Strawberry Slush and the second in Night of Navy ink.  Next to the sentiment, I stamped the small water image from the set in Balmy Blue, the sailboat in Blueberry Bushel and the sun in Daffodil Delight ink.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the inside of the card base and the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the little Sunset Coast scene on the front…

…and more of the Scenic Coast Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I confess we haven’t seen a lot of sunsets that look like this – the first days were rainy/cloudy and then when it was clear…we pretty much were in bed and asleep before sunset happened!!  But – tthe Sunset Coast bundle – combined with the Scenic Coast Specialty DSP – will create the most gorgeous coastal scenes ever for you!  And you can have them any time of the day or night!  The Banner Sayings bundle is replete with small print sentiments that work great for all sorts of card needs – especially when paired with the bundled Triple Banner Punch (in other words – this is also a bundle you need in your tool box!).
