Good morning everyone! Welcome to this month’s Fun Fold Blog Hop for Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators! We’ve got a talented line-up and…I think you’re going to like what you see! This is a once-a-month hop and…all our cards will be fun folds!! How cool is that?!?
I went back to one of my favorites – the faux side-step fun fold! I used it as an opportunity to give you a little sneak peek look-see at the fun new Balloon Festoon bundle and the pretty Bloom Boutique Specialty DSP! These are both coming soon in the May-Aug 2026 Catalog – on 5 May! Take a look-see:
I started with a 5 1/2″ x 8″ piece of new Hydrangea Hue cardstock that, using my Paper Trimmer, I scored along the long side at 3″, 6″ and 7″. I folded the scored lines as a mountain (3″), valley (6″) and mountain (7″). This is the main card base.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere a 2 3/4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of flower-dy paper from new Bloom Boutique Specialty DSP on a 2 7/8″ x 5 3/8″ Crisp Cantaloupe mat and then to the front of the main card base.
I matted a 3/4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Crisp Cantaloupe Bloom Boutique Specialty DSP on a 7/8″ x 5 3/8″ piece of Crisp Cantaloupe cardstock and adhered it to the narrow panel on the front of the card base.
Then I scored a 3″ x 6″ piece of Hydrangea Hue cardstock at 4 1/4″ – and folded it as a mountain. That’s the side-step panel.
I matted a 2 3/4″ x 4 1/4″ piece of Hydrangea Hue Bloom Boutique Specialty DSP on a Crisp Cantaloupe mat and then adhered it to the larger portion of the side-step panel with Liquid Glue.
I used the smallest and next-to-smallest Balloon Festoon dies to cut out seven balloons from various pieces of the Bloom Boutique Specialty DSP. Using the “balloon reflection” dies – I cut out coordinating 2026-2028 In Color Pearlized Paper “reflections”. So…in Golden Glow, Crisp Cantaloupe, Hydrangea Hue and Peaceful Pine.
Using Liquid Glue, I adhered a “reflection” to each of the balloon die cuts. Note: I cut small “reflections’ for the small balloons and a large “reflection” for the large balloon.
I used the “string” die to cut out a couple Basic White cardstock “strings” – which I adhered to the bottom of a couple of balloons with Liquid Glue.
I adhered the balloons to the front panel of the side-step panel. Note – they can extend past the sides of the panel – but not past the top or bottom.
I tied a bow from a length of white Baker’s Twine and adhered it with a little Liquid Glue.
On a 3/4″ x 2 1/2″ piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped a Balloon Festoon sentiment in Peaceful Pine ink. I matted it on Crisp Cantaloupe and adhered it over the top of the bow with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I added some Golden Glow dots from the new 2026-2028 In Color Dots (available on 5 May) to finish off the front of the side-step panel.
I used Liquid Glue on the bottom 1″ of the side-step panel and adhered it to the narrow bottom strip – aligning the bottoms.
Then I closed the card base and used more Liquid Glue to adhere the smaller portion of the panel to the back of the main card base – thus creating the side-step panel.
On a 2 3/4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the balloon and string images from Balloon Festoon in Hydrangea Hue ink. Then I stamped another sentiment in Peaceful Pine ink and the garland image a couple times in Crisp Cantaloupe ink.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Crisp Cantaloupe mat and then to the back of the card base – see how it covers the seam of the side-step panel? And – the card was done!
My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Crisp Cantaloupe garland on the front…
…and more of the flower-dy Bloom Boutique Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.
