Well – happy FriYAY, y’all! Hope you’ve had a good week AND that you have a good weekend planned – and the weather that makes ALL your plans doable! 🙂 We’re getting soggy and muddy. Again. Still? 🤷♀️
Just a quick note – Stamp-N-Storage is having some fun this weekend with…FREE SHIPPING on ALL orders! So – if organizing is on your list…be sure to check them out!
My card today is a fun fold – yeah! It’s called a Fan Fold and it’s kind of the “hot thing” right now! This one is decorated with beautiful flowers – die cut ones from the Impressions Abloom bundle and painted ones from the Floral Impressions DSP (both part of a wunnermus new Online Exclusive suite of products) – and it’s…gorgeous (she says modestly). Take a look-see:
Now – I mentioned that this fun fold is “hot” right now – but…many of them you’ll see are 5″ x 7″ cards – which are great but…not my preferred card size.
So – I looked around to see if anyone had done the math-ing to bring it down to an A2 size – and I hit the jackpot with Lisa Bernard at Queen B Creations! I used her dimensions and then…ran with it!
UPDATED ON 30 May: I DID make a video on how to make this card – yes, I am BACK doing YouTube Lives twice a week (yeah!) but…as some of you have noticed – there was a problem with the video. The problem was…it never published on YouTube. 🤦♀️ It was operator (me) error. So…I have deleted it and….you’re going to get a BONUS Fan Fold Card for our video on Saturday evening! Yeah!
I started with a 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ Strawberry Slush card base – scored and folded at 4 1/4″. I made a little pencil mark at the top of the card base – 1 3/4″ from the RIGHT side – and then used my Paper Trimmer to cut from the mark to the bottom right corner. And I saved that triangle for later.
I made the same measurement (1 3/4″) on a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Pretty in Pink cardstock and cut off a triangle from it, too – this is the mat for the card front and I adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.
I cut down a 3 3/4″ x 5″ piece of the stunning Floral Impressions DSP and adhered it with Liquid Glue. Note – I call this design (the one with the flowers all over it) “Design 1″ on the video AND on the card cuts list down below.
On the inside, I adhered a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Pretty in Pink cardstock to the inside of the card base using Liquid Glue. I cut a triangle (1 3/4” from the right edge) from a Basic White panel.
I stamped an Impressions Abloom sentiment in Strawberry Slush and then stamped the detailed flower from the set in Pretty in Pink ink. On the left side, I adhered a narrow strip of the Floral Impressions DSP “Design 1” with Liquid Glue. Then I adhered the panel to the Pretty in Pink mat.
Now – to make the “fans” on the front.
For the bottom fan – I cut a 3 1/4″ x 5″ piece of Strawberry Slush cardstock into two triangles – keeping the right-side triangle for the base of the fan. I did the same to a 3″ x 4 3/4″ piece of Pretty in Pink cardstock and a 2 3/4″ x 4 1/2″ piece of Floral Impressions DSP (this time in Design 2 – in this case the Garden Green design).
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the mat to the base and then the DSP to the mat – and the bottom fan was ready to go!
I adhered the completed bottom fan to the card front with Liquid Glue – making sure the tip was nestled right down into the bottom left corner of the card front – and that the top corners didn’t extend past the edges of the card base.
Yeah. Like I said – check out the video. I TOLD you it was easier to SHOW than to WRITE! 🙂
For the top fan – I made smaller Pretty in Pink and Floral Impressions DSP (using Design 1 again) triangles just like I did for the bottom fan. Then I adhered them to that Strawberry Slush triangle that I’d cut from the card base.
Once again, I adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue – tucking that long tip down into the corner of the card base and “centering” the top of the triangle on the bottom triangle.
And – that’s all there is to making a fan card!
Now – to decorate!
I used Stampin’ Seal to adhere a length of Gold Striped 3/8″ Mesh Ribbon (also an Online Exclusive) in a figure-8 bow on the card front.
Using the Impressions Abloom dies, I cut out some flowers and leaves:
– Three Garden Green leaves
– A large Strawberry Slush flower
– A large Pretty in Pink flower
– Two Smaller “fan” flowers – one in Strawberry Slush and one in Peach Pie
– Two Darling Duckling flower centers – and I adhered them to the large flowers with Liquid Glue
– Three tiny Darling Duckling flowers
Using Liquid Glue – I adhered all but the Peach Pie flower and the three tiny Darling Duckling flowers over the ribbon.
I stamped the Impressions Abloom sentiment in Strawberry Slush on a 3/4″ wide strip of Basic White cardstock and snipped an angle on the right end. Then I adhered it with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I adhered the Peach Pie die cut flower to the sentiment with Liquid Glue (then slid a Dimensional under it to give it a little support) – and added the three little Darling Duckling flowers with Liquid Glue.
I added seven Strawberry Slush & Pretty in Pink Gems (online exclusive!) and the card front – and the card! – was done!
My Basic White Medium Envelope got the detailed flower in Pretty in Pink on the front…
…and more of the Impressions Abloom DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! Okay – this is not a light, thin card – it’s going to need extra postage, I promise. SO. WORTH. IT! 😎 The Floral Impressions DSP is one of my very FAVORITE papers – it is just…a garden-on-paper and I love it for this A2 Sized Fan Fun Fold card! The gorgeous Impressions Abloom bundle is a wonderful complement to the paper – creating ALL the flowers in the garden in ALL the colors!
I hope you like!

Such a pretty card! Love the papers that you’ve used. And Littly Missy looks like she’s all ready to hop into the drivers seat. 😉 Finn doesn’t look quite as certain that he’ll be allowing that to happen. 😂
No – he’s tried to explain the whole no-thumbs thing but she tells him she don’t need no stinkin’ thumbs! Driving a golf cart is nuthin’ but a step for a stepper like her! Thanks, Amy! 🙂
Excellent illustrations of the cuts but you are so right…watching the video makes it easier. I like this so much better with the mats rather than the way I did it. You have a handsome son and beautiful daughter. There really was a pup under all that mop of hair 🙂 I’m sure your mom is smiling down.
Yes – she IS a real dog!! And cute – her little lips are too cute!! I hope Mom sees that she’s happy! Thanks so much, Karen! 🙂
Mary, I always look forward to your videos and was anxiously looking forward to seeing this one of the Fan Fold card. Unfortunately the video doesn’t play. It just shows a picture of the card and a message that says “Waiting for Stamps-N-Lingers May 30, 2025 at 10:30”. When I checked your YouTube yesterday it was the same thing except the date and time was different. Do you have any idea about this glitch? Love watching you create and have downloaded many of your .pdf’s. Thanks for your time and effort on doing this.
Thanks so much, Pat – I am really happy that you like my cards – and very sorry about the video! 🙁 YouTube and I had a bit of a mis-understanding today and…I managed to lose the video for this card. BUT – to make up – I’m going to make ANOTHER A2 Sized Fan Fold Card on my Saturday Night YouTube – using different DSP and stamp bundles. And I’ll try not to mess up the posting of it to YouTube. So…I hope you’ll be able to watch that one!
Hi Mary, your card is beautiful! As I reviewed the instructions, I said I can do this, so I think I will give it a try. Thanks for sharing.
I KNOW you can – have fun! And thank you so much! 🙂
Hi Mary: I loved your A2 fan fold card, printed off your directions and went to watch the video but it’s been removed. Will you be re-posting it? I can certainly follow your written instructions as I’ve done countless times but it’s always nice to watch the video too. Thanks! Love, love your cards!
Hey Lynn – thanks – I’m glad that you liked the card! So…YouTube and I had a bit of a mis-understanding today and…I managed to lose the video for this card. :(. BUT – to make up – I’m going to make ANOTHER A2 Sized Fan Fold Card on my Saturday Night YouTube – using different DSP and stamp bundles. And I’ll try not to mess up the posting of it to YouTube. So…I hope you’ll be able to watch that one!
