Stampin’ UP! Floral Memorable Blooms Z-Fold for the SU Demos Fun Fold Blog Hop

Good morning everyone! Welcome to this month’s Fun Folds Blog Hop for Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators!  We’ve got a talented line-up and…I think you’re going to like what you see!  This is a once-a-month hop and…all our cards will be fun folds!!  How cool is that?!?

I decided to do a Z-fold card today – it gives lots of space to showcase our pretty papers – like the gorgeous Floral Delight DSP!  And the Memorable Blooms stamp set and bundled dies made for a pretty sentiment – and a cool octagonal focal point on the front.  Take a look-see:

I played along with the Tic-Tac-Toe challenge this week, too! I went across the top (bright colors – flowers – twine) and down the middle (flowers-spring – Dimension). 🙂

I did a quick video on how to make this pretty fun fold card, which is posted on Instagram.  If you’d like to give that a watch – click here!

I started with a 4 1/4″ x 11″ piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock that I scored at 2 3/4″ and 5 1/2″ on the long side.  Then I folded the 2 3/4″ score line as a mountain and the 5 1/2″ score line as a valley.  And so was born the Z-fold!  Easy peasy!

I matted two pieces of Floral Delight DSP – one flowerdy and one that wunnemus gingham – on Pool Party cardstock and adhered them to the two smaller Z-fold panels with Liquid Glue.

For the back panel – I used Liquid Glue to adhere a piece of Floral Delight DSP to the right side of a Pool Party mat.

Then, I stamped a Memorable Blooms sentiment in Mossy Meadow ink on a piece of Basic White cardstock.   In the corner, I stamped a small Memorable Blooms floral image in Pool Party Ink.

I adhered it on the mat, next to the DSP panel, and then onto the back panel with Liquid Glue.

For the focal point, I used the die from Memorable Blooms to cut out a Mossy Meadow octagon.  I cut a Basic White detailed floral frame using both the solid octagon die (same one I used to cut out the Mossy Meadow piece) with the floral octagon set inside.

Using Liquid Glue, I adhered the Basic White die cut to the Mossy Meadow die cut.

Using Liquid Glue on just the left side of the back of the octagon – I adhered it to the small front panel of the z-fold.

I used the Memorable Blooms leaf die to cut out a Pool Party and an Old Olive leaf.

I adhered both leaves to the Memorable Blooms octagon – being sure that they didn’t extend past the top or the bottom edge of the card base.

I tied a simple bow from two lengths of Natural Tones Linen Thread and adhered it with a little Liquid Glue.

On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the Memorable Blooms sentiment in Mossy Meadow ink.  I cut it out with a Stylish Shape banner die and adhered it over the bow with double-stacked Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I added some clear Adhesive-backed Sparkle Gems and the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Memorable Blooms floral in Pool Party on the front…

…and more of the Floral Delight DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  A Z-fold is a perfect choice for making a fun fold that gives plenty of real estate for pretty-ness like the Floral Delight DSP I’ve used here!  And there’s always a great spot right up front to showcase something cool – like the Memorable Blooms floral octagon.  Plus, this fold stands up nicely for display.  Oh!  And it’s EASY, too!  Winner winner!
