Stampin’ Up! Lovely Thankful Garden Sneak Peek Thank You Card

Good morning, y’all and Happy Monday!  We had a pretty abrupt start to our day yesterday – with the Tornado Warning alert going off on the television at around 415am!  A look at the radar showed that it was a very fast moving straight line of storms.  It only lasted for about 30 min – but it rained and the wind blew!! – like crazy.  And…the power went out at about 430.  And – didn’t come back until almost 930.  Which necessitated a trip to Starbucks at about 6 – mocha’s for us and a pup-cup for The Man!!  Couldn’t get a picture – it was dark – I had my hands full of mochas and he was…. FAST and DETERMINED! 🙂

Once the power came back I headed to my craft room and pulled out the new Thankful Garden bundle – well – the stamp set and dies, I didn’t even need the included masks!! – and some coordinating Lovely Garden DSP to make a pretty thank you card.  These are new Online Exclusives that customers will be able get on 4 March!  Take a look-see:

Stampin' Up! Lovely Thankful Garden Sneak Peek Thank You Card - Stamps-N-Lingers

The layout for this one was inspired by the Freshly Made Sketches challenge this week.

I did a quick video on how to make this cool card, which is posted on Instagram.  If you’d like to give that a watch – click here!

I started by adhering a beautiful piece of new Lovely Garden DSP on a Basic Black mat for the card front.

Using the largest Stylish Shapes circle die, I cut out a Basic White circle, which I adhered to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I used the dies in the bundled Thankful Garden die set to cut out four Basic Black leaves – two each of the two leaves dies in the set – and adhered them around the circle with Liquid Glue.

Then I stamped one of the large florals from the Thankful Garden stamp set in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on a piece of Basic White cardstock.

When it had dried I colored the flowers with the Light Lemon Lolly and Dark and Light Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends.  For the stem and leaves, I used the Garden Green Stampin’ Write Marker to highlight the veins – then colored them with the Light Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blend.

I cut it out with the coordinating die in the bundled Thankful Garden die set – and adhered it to the card front with Black Stampin’ Dimensionals.

On a piece of Basic Black cardstock, I stamped the Thankful Garden sentiment in Versamark Ink, sprinkled it with white embossing powder from the Basics WOW! Embossing Powders.  I heat set it with the Heat Tool and, when cool, cut it out with the large Stylish Shapes banner die.

Using a couple of Black Stampin’ Dimensionals and some Liquid Glue – I adhered the sentiment banner.

I added some clear and black gems from the Adhesive-backed Sparkle Gems pack and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped the small leaf image from Thankful Garden in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and colored them with the Garden Green Stampin’ Write Marker and Light Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blend.  Then I added a few clear Adhesive-backed Sparkle Gems.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the inside of the Daffodil Delight card base, popped the card front on with Black Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Thankful Garden leaves on the front…

…and more of the Lovely Garden DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Oh my – isn’t that Lovely Garden DSP just gorgeous?!  I love those sweet white and yellow flowers!  And they’re mirrored by the stamped image from the coordinating Thankful Garden floral and elegant black die cut leaves.  This is a cool bundle – cuz it ALSO includes a set of masks (stencils) to use to create beautiful flowers with sponge daubers or Blending Brushes!!  Didn’t need them for THIS card – but…it’s cool to have them!

Finn Fan Fix

When you buy things at Costco – like…Scrubbing Bubbles!…you usually get three or four cans – wrapped in some sort of hard-ish plastic.  So when we got home with said pack of Scrubbing Bubbles the other day – Wayne opened the plastic to distribute the cans about the house.

When he walked away from the island in the kitchen – the plastic packaging fell to the floor.

It happens.

Fortunately, our Roomba-Finn was there.

Now – I’m not saying anything but…I think it was good that I was there to call him to give me the paper.

Which he did – bringing it to me at the sink – for which he got a little bit of cookie.

But – I feel like, maybe, if he’d been on his own…he MIGHT have hurried right to the living room to shred that sucker to confetti!!
