My card celebrates all things Autumn. Well – specifically PUMPKIN and SPICE things! I used the More Than Autumn bundle from the Sep-Dec 2024 Mini Catalog and…some Fall-inspired paper from the Iconic Celebrations 6″ x 6″ DSP (in the 2024-2025 Annual Catalog). AND – it’s a FAUX side-step fun fold card – one of my faves! Take a look-see:
I used some elements from the Tic-Tac-Toe challenge this week! I went across the top and down the right column!
You’ll see this card – along with the other Design Team members’ cards – at this week’s Creative Creases Challenge! We’re all about the fun folds and I hope you’ll come and join us – we would LOVE for you to share YOUR fun fold creations with us!
I started with a 5 1/2″ x 8″ piece of Pecan Pie cardstock that, using my Paper Trimmer, I scored along the long side at 3″, 6″ and 7″. I folded the scored lines as a mountain (3″), valley (6″) and mountain (7″). This is the main card base.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere a piece of plaid paper from Iconic Celebrations 6″ x 6″ DSP on a Peach Pie mat and then to the front of the main card base.
I matted a second narrow piece of the plaid Iconic Celebrations 6″ x 6″ DSP on Peach Pie cardstock and adhered it to the narrow panel on the front of the card base.
Then I scored a 3″ x 6″ piece of Pecan Pie cardstock at 4 1/4″ – and folded it as a mountain. That’s the side-step panel.
I matted a different Iconic Celebrations DSP on Peach Pie cardstock and adhered it to the larger portion of the side-step panel with Liquid Glue.
On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped a bunch of images from the More Than Autumn stamp set.
– Two coffee cups in Early Espresso ink. I colored the cups with the Light Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blend and cut them out with their coordinating dies.
– The little pumpkin from the set in Early Espresso on both cups and colored them with the Light and Dark Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Blends.
– Five cinnamon sticks in Early Espresso, colored them with Light and Dark Pecan Pie Stampin’ Blends and cut them out with their coordinating dies.
– The little pumpkin three times in Early Espresso, colored them with Light and Dark Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Blends and cut them out with their coordinating dies.
– The pie wedge in Early Espresso, colored it with the Light Pecan Pie Stampin’ Blends (crust) and the Light and Dark Pumpkin Pie Blends (custard) and cut it out with the coordinating die.
I put pieces of Adhesive Sheets on the back of some Peach Pie cardstock and then cut out the three sentiments dies from the More Than Autumn die set. Using the Adhesive Sheets, I adhered them to the side-step panel.
Then I used Liquid Glue to adhere one of the die cut cups to the side-step panel. Using Stampin’ Dimensionals in the middle of the second cup, I adhered it over the first cup – then I added the pie wedge with a Dimensional.
I used Liquid Glue to tuck the cinnamon sticks into the collage and Stampin’ Dimensionals to add the die cut pumpkins.
Then I added some Adhesive-backed Swirl Dots.
I used Liquid Glue on the bottom 1″ of the side-step panel and adhered it to the narrow bottom strip – aligning the bottoms.
Then I closed the card base and used more Liquid Glue to adhere the smaller portion of the panel to the back of the main card base – thus creating the side-step panel.
I stamped a sentiment from More Than Autumn in Peach Pie ink on a piece of Basic White cardstock. Next to it, I stamped the little pumpkin twice in Early Espresso and colored them with the Light and Dark Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Blends.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Peach Pie mat and then to the back of the card base – see how it covers the seam of the side-step panel? And – the card was done!
My Basic White Medium Envelope got three of the More Than Autumn pumpkins on the front…
…and more of the Iconic Celebrations 6″ x 6″ DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! I love the fun combinations of tasty Fall goodies that you can create with the More Than Autumn stamp set and bundled dies – pumpkin spice, apple cider, peppermint, hot chocolate! Add in the right paper – there are ALL sorts of designs for year-round projects in the Iconic Celebrations 6″ x 6″ DSP – and a cool fun fold (like my easy-to-make faux side-step card!) and….you’ve got a winner!! 🙂
