Stampin’ Up! CAS Simply Flowering Zinnias Card

Well – good morning and Happy Happy Hawwwmp AND Valentine’s Day!  I have to head to the dental hobby shop today for a cleaning so…THAT’S romantic! 🤦‍♀️ Hope you guys fare a little better!

My card today is so easy and quick – AND it’s highly customizable.  In fact – I’m going to show you two different versions.  The basis of the card is the stunning Flowering Zinnia DSP and the coordinating Simply Zinnia bundle – both of which are wunnermus new Online Exclusives (get them on 5 March).  Take a look-see:

I played along with this week’s Festive Friday Inspo List. I used Bright Colors, Twine, Texture, and Outdoors!

I started by adhering a piece of the Flowering Zinnias DSP to a Mossy Meadow mat for the card front.  Y’all – this paper is….WOW! And – you can get 6 card fronts from one piece of the DSP – which means…you could make TWELVE of these cards!

I used some of the new Berry Burst, Old Olive & White Specialty Glimmer Paper – cutting a strip in Old Olive and one in Berry Burst.

I snipped banner ends and adhered them to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I tied a bow from two lengths of Lemon Lolly Baker’s Twine from the Baker’s Twine Three Color Pack (part of the Lighter Than Air suite in the Jan-Apr 2024 Mini) and adhered it with a Glue Dot.

On a strip of Basic White, I stamped the Simply Zinnia sentiment in Melon Mambo ink.  Then I snipped a banner end and adhered it over the bow with double-stacked Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I added some new Adhesive-backed Shiny Sequins (yep – also coming on 5 March) and the card front was done.

Now – let’s talk…variations!  I pulled out the Softly Sophisticated stamp set (this is a BUNDLE available for free thru 29 Feb during Sale-a-Bration, with a qualifying $100 order!) and made two more cards.

So – look in your stash – what do you need for cards?  Thank You?  Birthday?  Get Well?  This layout – with this paper – is perfect for…whatever you need! Colors?  There’s about a zillion zinnia colors in the paper – mix them and match them.  Use the colors on the DSP pack and – you can’t go wrong.

When you make your strips – make the sentiment strip as long as needed for whatever sentiment you’re using.  Then modify the Glimmer paper strips to work – one longer and one shorter.  You can’t mess this up!  I promise!

For the inside, I stamped the single Simply Zinnia flower in Melon Mambo ink on a Basic White panel.  Using my Light Melon Mambo, Light Flirty Flamingo and Light Lemon Lolly Stampin’ Blends – I colored the flower.  Then I added a single Adhesive-backed Shiny Sequin.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Mossy Meadow mat and into my Flirty Flamingo card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Simply Zinnia flower on the front…

…and more of the Flowering Zinnias DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Well – we’ve had a lot of gorgeous DSP’s in the eight years and change that I’ve been with Stampin’ Up! – but…this Flowering Zinnias DSP is truly some of the most gorgeous.  It’s a summer garden – on paper! Pair it with the coordinating Simply Zinnia bundle and use those sentiments – or find another sentiment for whatever kind of card you need.  Like…maybe from the Softly Sophisticated bundle (from Sale-A-Bration!).
