Good morning on the cusp of another weekend! Are you planning to watch the Super Bowl? Rumor has it that it’s on Sunday! If you are – are you making lots of Super Bowl snacks?!? The snacks for Super Bowl are always the best!! I’m also looking forward to seeing the Clydesdales – I hear THEY’RE coming back this year!
I’ve got another sneak peek for you today – tell me you’re not surprised! I was so enamored by the Simply Zinnia Suite – with the bundle and the coordinating Flowering Zinnias DSP – that I knew it was on my short list to play with. So…here ’tis! And I even pulled in the Zinnias 3D Embossing Folder AND some Adhesive-backed Shiny Sequins – ALL in the new suite coming on 5 March in the Online Exclusives. Take a look-see:
So pretty – looks like my zinnia bed in full bloom in the summer!
The layout for this one was inspired by the Tuesday Morning Sketches challenge.
I started with some of the new Flowering Zinnias DSP – which is STUNNING!…
…that I matted on Basic Black and then on Flirty Flamingo for the card front. Note: on the video (link below) – I switched it up some and used Daffodil Delight!
For the middle panel, I embossed a piece of Basic Black cardstock in the new Zinnia 3D Embossing Folder. Then, using a Sponge Dauber, I brushed Whisper White ink over the raised embossing to highlight it a bit.
I matted the embossed panel on Flirty Flamingo (or Daffodil Delight) and then adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.
I made the flower using the dies in the Simply Zinnia die set:
– I cut out a flower base from the new Berry Burst, Old Olive & White Glimmer Paper (avail 5 March) using the die in the set.
– I cut petals using the two petal dies in the set – one in Berry Burst/Basic White and the second in Flirty Flamingo/Daffodil Delight.
– I cut a flower center from Pumpkin Pie cardstock.
– I cut the flower center…”ring”??…in white Berry Burst, Old Olive & White Glimmer Paper.
Using Liquid Glue – I adhered the petals to the flower base. Then I added the Pumpkin Pie flower center with a Stampin’ Dimensional and the final Glimmer “ring” with Liquid Glue.
For the foliage – I used the dies in the set to cut out Mossy Meadow leaves and a stem. I cut two of the two-leaf leaf die cuts and one single leaf die cut. I used the veins dies to cut coordinating veins from the Old Olive Berry Burst, Old Olive & White Glimmer Paper.
Then I adhered the veins to the leaves with Liquid Glue.
I adhered the various pieces of the flower to the card front using Liquid Glue.
I tied a simple bow using two lengths of Baker’s Twine (black or white, depending on which version you look at) and adhered it with a Glue Dot.
On a strip of Flirty Flamingo – or Daffodil Delight – cardstock, I stamped the Simply Zinnia sentiment in Berry Burst ink. Then I matted the panel on Basic Black cardstock and popped it over the bow with double-stacked Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I cut out some teensy little Simply Zinnia stars from the Glimmer Paper and adhered them with little dots of Liquid Glue. Then I added new Adhesive-backed Shiny Sequins (part of the Suite and available on 5 March) in Pumpkin Pie – and the card front was done!
For the inside, I stamped a second Simply Zinnia sentiment in Berry Burst. Over the top, I stamped the leaf image from Simply Zinnia in stamped-off-once Mossy Meadow. Then I added a few of the Pumpkin Pie sequins.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Basic Black and then a Flirty Flamingo/Daffodil Delight and into the Pumpkin Pie card base. Then I adhered the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Note: I used Dimensionals here for the Flirty Flamingo card – but I used Liquid Glue on the Daffodil version. To be honest – if I were making them again – I’d stick with the Liquid Glue. There’s plenty of dimension on this card already! 😎
My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Simply Zinnia leaf in Mossy Meadow on the front…
…and more of the Flowering Zinnias DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! I can almost hear the bees buzzing and see the flutterbys fluttering around the stunning Flowering Zinnias DSP, can’t you!? And – the Simply Zinnia stamp set and bundled dies means you can make zinnias in all the colors they come in! And – that’s a LOT! I know you’re excited to get this whole Suite on 5 March when it goes live in the Online Exclusives!
I hope you like!

Such a pretty card Mary! Love that paper and bundle so much!! And of course every package is for him…and that the very least, he has to sniff it all to make sure that there’s nothing suspicious in there… 😉
That is true – it’s in his job description! Thanks so much, Amy! 🙂
Impressive cards! I have been waffling on the zinnia suite, and still undecided. However, you have made a great case for getting it. While I don’t see this as your usual kind of card, both are lovely, though I am leaning toward the berry burst/flirty flamingo one. The one with yellow looks more daisy like than zinnia to me. Love that gratitude sentiment.
They ARE brighter than my norm – that’s for sure. But…I love it like I love my REAL zinnia garden in the summer!! Thanks so much, Julie! 🙂
Gorgeous card, Mary! These colors speak to me, iykwim. And really, shouldn’t all packages at least be inspected by the lord of the manor before opening??? 😉🤣
Yes they should. There shall be NO contraband when The Nose is on the case!! Thanks, Barb! 🙂
Zinna zingers…very nice!
Ahhh, the package mystery. Tries the Aussie heart.
It does, indeed!! Thanks, Mom! 🙂
