Stampin’ Up! Hope You Know Precious Pinecones Sympathy Card

Good morning and Happy Happy Hawwwmp Day, y’all!  Hope your week is going well.  We’re having a pretty standard Fall here in North Georgia – and…I took advantage of the nice day yesterday to cook up some pizza!  And I did a loaf of sourdough, too.  Yes, yes – I know what you’re thinking.  I AM just like Joanna Gaines and Ree Drummond all rolled up in one! 😂😂

My card today is a pretty sympathy card featuring the Precious Pinecones “reversibles” stamp set and the Hope You Know set.  I also have some Timber 3D Embossing cuz…it’s perfect!  Take a look-see:

Yes – it DOES involve fussy cutting so…look away if that makes you queasy! 😂

I started by doing some stamping of the Precious Pinecones foliage onto a Crumb Cake panel.  I used Garden Green or Mossy Meadow for the veins – then cleaned the stamp and turned it over on the block (that’s what “reversibles” are famous for).   Using the solid side of the stamp – I stamped over the vein images in stamped-off-once Old Olive ink.  Also stamped a few fern-y looking leaves in Garden Green (without going back and adding the solid image over the top.

Once I’d stamped quite a bit of foliage in the corner – and added some little dots (using the stamp in the set) in stamped-off-once Pecan Pie,  I embossed the panel in the Timber 3D Embossing Folder.  Then I adhered the panel to a Mossy Meadow mat and then to a Pecan Pie mat with Liquid Glue.

On another piece of Crumb Cake – I stamped several Precious Pinecones.  These, too, are reversible stamps so…I stamped the detailed side in Copper Clay or Pecan Pie (I made five total) – then I added the solid image to all the pinecones in stamped-off-once Pecan Pie ink.

Okay – hide your eyes!  I used my Paper Snips to cut out the five pinecones.

Using Liquid Glue and Stampin’ Dimensionals, I adhered the five pinecones to the card front.

On a piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock, I stamped the Hope You Know sentiment in Versamark Ink, sprinkled it with white Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat set it with the Heat Tool.

When it was cool, I adhered it over the pinecones with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Tip: don’t be afraid to double-stack some Dimensionals if you need to to keep everything “even”.

I tied a double-loop Linen Thread bow (aka Farrah Fawcett bow) and adhered it to the sentiment with a Glue Dot.

I added some Adhesive-back Sparkle Gems and the card front was done.

For the inside, I stamped a Hope You Know sentiment in Copper Clay on a Very Vanilla panel.  Then I flexed my fussy cutting skills again and made a sticky note mask for one of the pinecones.  I stamped the Precious Pinecone in Pecan Pie and stamped-off-once Pecan Pie in the corner.  Then I placed my mask over top and stamped a few pine boughs in Mossy Meadow and stamped-off-once Old Olive.  I added some stamped-off-once Pecan Pie dots and, since they’re pretty – and pretty flat! – I added some more Adhesive-backed Glitter Gems.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to Mossy Meadow and Pecan Pie mats and then into my Copper Clay card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got pine boughs and dots on the front…

…and another pinecone and some dots on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I do love this little Precious Pinecones set – of course!  And, since it’s an image-only set, you can add any sort of sentiment – like these from Hope You Know – and your card will be beautiful!

I hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

He’s got a toof-bone in his mouth.  Not exactly sure why he’s just lying there holding it like that.

I’m not even sure HE knows what he’s waiting for. 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

It took him a few minutes to decide he needed to retire to the living room to give that toof-cleaner his undivided attention!

Upon further reflection…it occurs to me that the look and pause means…YOU know that I KNOW that this is HALF a bone.  Right??

Such a pretty card! Love the colors that you’ve used…you know that I’d never do that fussy cussing, but the pinecones do look awesome snipped out! Poor Finn…stuck with only half dog bones. It stinks getting to those middle years!

  2. Stunning card, Mary. I’m trying to learn to layer and beautifully as you do but I fall far short of your talent. And Finn, I’m sorry about the half bone.

  3. Kate

Card is lovely…need a stock of them.
Not nice to fool the Finny but he will be glad you did when he avoids the vet DDS procedure.

      Yes – he isn’t interested in the toof-man!! :). Thanks, Mom! 🙂
