Good morning, y’all! It’s Thursday – which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop. We’ve got a color challenge to work with and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table. I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!
The colors in our challenge inspired me to pull out some gorgeous Joy of Christmas DSP as the foundation for my card – and then I added a pretty Wishes All Around sentiment and some wreath die cuts! Take a look-see:
And here’s our colors!
The layout for this one was inspired by the sketch over at the TGIF Challenge.
And I selected elements for the card using the Tic-Tac-Toe challenge board. I went across the top (Sequins – Die Cut – Vanilla) and down the center (Die Cut – Holly – Wreath). I caught that last corner with Gold Metallic, too! 🙂
I started by adhering a piece of Pebbled Path paper from the Joy of Christmas DSP on a Pebbled Path card base using Liquid Glue.
I matted a piece of the holly berry paper and some musical paper on Cherry Cobbler, and adhered both of those to the card front with Liquid Glue, too.
Using the wreath die from the Wishes All Around die set, I cut two wreaths. One is from a piece of gold foil paper in the Joyful Specialty DSP pack and the other is a piece of Shaded Spruce paper from Joy of Christmas.
I used Liquid Glue – sparingly! – to adhere first the gold wreath and then the Shaded Spruce wreath to the card front.
On a strip of Very Vanilla cardstock, I stamped the Wishes All Around sentiment in Cherry Cobbler ink.
I snipped banner ends and adhered it over the wreath with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Using two strands of Very Vanilla Baker’s Twine and one strand of gold Simply Elegant Trim, I tied a simple bow – which I adhered with a Glue Dot.
I added some red gems from the Loose Holly Gems & Sequins and some gold Neutrals Adhesive-backed Sequins and the card front was done.
On the inside, I stamped a second sentiment from Wishes All Around in Cherry Cobbler ink on a Very Vanilla panel. Next to the sentiment I stamped the little bough from the set in Shaded Spruce.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Cherry Cobbler mat and into the Pebbled Path card base and the card was done!
My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got the little Wishes All Around bough on the front in Shaded Spruce…
…and more Joy of Christmas DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! Simple and quick and elegant (she says modestly!!)! I love the Joy of Christmas DSP so much – to me it is just classic “Christmas”! And the Wishes All Around set is pretty with its different wreath options and traditional sentiments in beautiful fonts!
I hope you like!
