Good morning and Happy Happy Hawwwmp Day! Tell me – are you enjoying Daylight Standard Time yet? If you are – don’t tell me – cuz…I just couldn’t take it, I don’t think! I hate it so much. So. So. Much. My body says GO TO BED as soon as it starts to get dark. Which is VERY problematic when that pretty much takes place at lunch time!😳😳😳
My card today is a clean and simple little thank you card that is very timely as we head into Veteran’s Day! It combines the Modern Garden set (from the Sep – Dec 2023 Mini Catalog) and the Go To Greetings set (from the Annual Catalog) – in colors that symbolize this holiday. Take a look-see:
I pulled a lot of elements from this week’s Festive Friday Inspo List. I got Red, Black, Clean and Simple, Punches, Gratitude, Silhouette. And – if you sorta squint – my flower COULD be a poppy! And it’s stamped in POPPY Parade! 🤙🤙
I started with a piece of Basic White cardstock that I first embossed in the cross-hatch folder that’s part of the Basics 3D Embossing Folders (an online exclusive product). Then I used the next-to-largest Stylish Shapes circle die to cut a circle in the panel.
I used the 2 3/8″ Circle Punch (ALSO an Online Exclusive!) to cut a circle in the center of a square of Poppy Parade cardstock.
I set the Poppy Parade square and the embossed panel atop a Basic White mat – aligning it so there was a thin red frame in the circle.
Then I carefully picked up the embossed panel and used a pencil to mark the mat where I wanted to adhere the Poppy Parade square.
Then I adhered the square to the mat with Liquid Glue.
I stamped the Modern Garden flower in Poppy Parade ink onto the mat – in the center hole of the Poppy Parade square. I added the flower center in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.
Using Stampin’ Dimensionals – I adhered the embossed card front onto the mat.
I colored a few small Classic Matte Dots with the Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin Blend and adhered them into the middle of the flower.
I cut two Basic Black leaves using the Bough Punch.
On a strip of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the sentiment from Go To Greetings in Poppy Parade ink. Using Liquid Glue, I adhered the right end of the sentiment to the card front. Then I adhered the two Bough Punch leaves with Liquid Glue.
I added a little bow tied from white Baker’s Twine and a few black Classic Matte Dots and the card front was done.
On the inside, I stamped the flower and the center in Poppy Parade and Tuxedo Black on a Basic White panel.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Basic White mat and into my Poppy Parade card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.
My Basic White Medium Envelope got the flower on the front…
…and on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! Poppy or not – I love how this card pops in Poppy Parade and black, don’t you? The Modern Garden flower does a nice job posing as a Veteran’s Day thank you posy and the Go To Greetings set really IS a “go-to” sentiment set!

Finn Fan Fix 
On Monday night – I headed to the bedroom a little early.
Okay – it was 7:15. Don’t judge! 🤷♀️
Finn – in a show of solidarity – headed there, too and went into his bedroom. I didn’t close the door cuz…7:15!
I took a bath and figured that he’d have given up and gone back to the living room.
I was…wrong.
Door – wide open.
I went and got his cookie and plopped it just inside the kennel in front of his schnoozle. He rolled up – BARELY – to eat it and…back to chasing bunnies! 🙂

Sorry you don’t like standard time. I do as I hate getting up in the dark. Lovely card-great colors and love the embossing. I guess moving the clocks around bothers everyone, including our 4 legged friends.
