Good morning – and Happy Monday! Hope you had a super weekend! Finn and I did a little – training – on Sunday – so…it wasn’t ALL play!
Well – HE thought we were playing! 😉
My card today is a clean and simple Halloween card (I KNOW – what in the world? TWO CAS cards in a row?!?). BUT – it’s MADE with a Christmas stamp set! And – since the Merry & Bright set HAS Christmas sentiments – you could make it into a Christmas card so easy that it’s ALSO PEASY! I turned it into a Halloween card with my color choices and a sentiment from the Pick of the Patch set. Take a look-see:
The layout for this one is from the Freshly Made Sketches challenge this week!
And the Halloween-y colors are thanks to the Color Throwdown challenge.
I started by stamping the light string image from Merry & Bright across a Basic White panel in Mossy Meadow ink.
Next up – I added the sockets in Mossy Meadow. Angling the sockets is how you “drive” the direction that each light will go.
I stamped the bulbs in Crushed Curry and Pumpkin Pie. Notice I changed up the order of the colors on this second card!
The filament image is also stamped in Mossy Meadow.
Then I added the sentiment from Pick of the Patch in Mossy Meadow.
Using my Dark Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Blend – I colored four small and one large clear gem from the Adhesive-backed Sparkle Gems. I added those colored gem – along with some not-colored clear gems to the card front.
Using Liquid Glue, I adhered the panel to a Mossy Meadow mat and then to a Crushed Curry mat – and the card front was done!
On the inside, I stamped the Merry & Bright images in the top corner of a Basic White panel.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Mossy Meadow and Crushed Curry mat and then into my Pumpkin Pie card base – and the card was done!
My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Merry & Bright images on the front…
…and some Mossy Meadow paper from the Neutrals 6″ x 6″ DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! I love the idea of making bulbs from the Merry & Bright stamp set in different color palettes to suit any occasion! For Christmas – consider Cherry Cobbler, Mossy Meadow and Crushed Curry. Maybe different greens – Granny Apple, Garden Green and Lemon Lime Twist at St. Patrick’s Day. Pinks and reds at Valentines. Need I go on? For this one – with the Halloween theme – Pick of the Patch was a perfect choice for the sentiment!
I hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix
Since our big truck is now my daily-driver – versus my nice, low van (RIP Odyssey) – getting in and out has become a little harder on the Man!
It’s a lot taller and there’s not a lot of room in the door so he has to go right to the seat instead of the – slightly! – lower floorboard.
So – I decided I’d best be investing in a ramp.
There was a video on how to teach him to use it – so I set it flat on the floor in the living room and – using pieces of treats – let him figure out how to walk across it. Being very very smart – AND very very food motivated – he picked up on it in about….one nanosecond. 😂
Yesterday I raised one end up on a step – and we did it again.
That was WAY too easy!
Out we went to practice on progressively higher things – and he was like…this is too easy (but I’ll keep doing it for more cookies!).
So – time to fish or cut bait.
Up!
And down…
Did it a few times – with some stops on the way down. Going SLOW is the goal.
Here’s a very-badly-made video – it’s hard to hold his collar (to encourage the SLOW) AND film – to show you what a smart boy he is! 🤷♀️🤷♀️
