Stampin’ Up! Pick of the Patch Let’s Go Fishing Halloween Card

Good morning and welcome back to the work week!  I hope you had a great weekend! 🙂

My card today pays homage to the fact that we’re in the Month of Halloween – the Pick of the Patch punch bundle dons Jack O’Lantern garb and sets atop some plaid paper from the…Let’s Go Fishing DSP!?  For…Fall?  Yup!  Take a look-see:

Not a fish in sight!

The layout for this one was inspired by the Freshly Made Sketches challenge this week.

And the color palette is from the Color Throwdown challenge.

I started with a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock that I embossed in the Timber 3D Embossing Folder.  I adhered a piece of the Let’s Go Fishing DSP to the bottom of the panel using Liquid Glue.

Using my Dark Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Blend, I colored some Black & Vanilla 3/8″ Large Check Ribbon.  Then I wrapped it around the panel – covering the seam – and secured it on the back with Glue Dots.

I matted the panel on Copper Clay cardstock to create the card front.

I cut a Very Vanilla circle using the largest Stylish Shapes circle die.  Then I used my Paper Trimmer to cut a slice off one side.  I placed the edge of the circle at the 2 1/4″ mark and then sliced off the other side.

I adhered the partial circle to the card front – tucking it under the ribbon – with Liquid Glue.

There are two pumpkins in the Pick of the Patch set that coordinate with the bundled punch.  On Very Vanilla cardstock, I stamped the larger of those two in Copper Clay ink – then again without re-inking. I also stamped it a third time – again in stamped-off-once Copper Clay.   I stamped the smaller of the two in Cajun Craze – and then again without re-inking.

If you’re counting – that’s five pumpkins!

On one of the stamped-off-once Copper Clay large pumpkins, I stamped the Pick of the Patch sentiment in Mossy Meadow.  I stamped the Jack O’ Lantern face in Tuxedo Black on the remainder of the pumpkins.  Then I punched them all out with the Pick of the Patch Builder Punch.

I also stamped the little leaf image five times in Mossy Meadow – and the stem once in Pecan Pie – and punched them out as well.

I adhered all but the sentiment pumpkin, one leaf and the stem to the die cut circle using Liquid Glue.

Using Stampin’ Dimensionals, I adhered the sentiment pumpkin in place over the ribbon.  I adhered the stem and final leaf with a little dab of Liquid Glue.

I added a few champagne Adhesive-backed Sparkle Gems and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped the larger Pick of the Patch pumpkin in Copper Clay in the corner of a Very Vanilla panel. I stamped the face in Tuxedo Black, the stem in Pecan Pie and the leaf in Mossy Meadow.  Then I added another of the Adhesive-backed Sparkle Gems.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Copper Clay mat and into my Mossy Meadow card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got the Pick of the Patch Jack O’ Lantern on the front…

…and more of the Let’s Go Fishing DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  The Pick of the Patch set is just the cutest bundle – with the added BONUS of being a punch bundle!  And – I love that the Let’s Go Fishing DSP gave me a perfect design for a completely NOT fishing-themed card, don’t you?!  Don’t forget to browse thru your papers – even the ones that aren’t “themed” the way you think you need!  You just might find exactly what you need in an unexpected spot!
