Good morning everyone and welcome to the Fun Folds Blog Hop for Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators! We’ve got a talented line-up and…I think you’re going to like what you see! This is a once-a-month hop and…all our cards will be fun folds!! How cool is that?!?
I decided to do a Double Z-fold card and showcase the beautiful Delightful Floral DSP – which is part of the Special Release DSP we’ve got going right now! And – since it all just works together perfectly – I paired it with some Translucent Florals blossoms and sentiments. Take a look-see:
I started with a basic Z-fold – which is sort of 2 cards in one.
For the large card base, I scored a 4 1/4″ x 11″ piece of Lost Lagoon cardstock at 2 3/4″ and 5 1/2″. Then I folded the 2 3/4″ score line as a “mountain” and the 5 1/2″ score line as a “valley”.
The second – small – card base is also Lost Lagoon – cut at 3 1/4″ x 9 1/4″. It’s scored at 2 3/4″ and 5 1/4″. I folded the 2 3/4″ line as a “mountain” and the second line as a “valley”.
The gorgeous Delightful Floral DSP – an online exclusive DSP available only while supplies last! – matted on Bubble Bath cardstock is adhered to the front and inside back panels of the large card base.
I matted some Pretty Peacock paper from the Glorious Gingham 6″ x 6″ DSP on Bubble Bath and then adhered it to the larger (inside back) panel of the small card.
I stamped two sentiments from the Translucent Florals stamp set in Calypso Coral on two small Basic White panels. They’re both matted on Bubble Bath cardstock. Over the second sentiment (Happy Birthday) – I stamped the sweet little foliage image from Translucent Florals in stamped-off-once Lost Lagoon ink.
Using Liquid Glue – I adhered the two sentiment panels onto the small card base – one on the front and one on the middle panel.
To adhere the two cards together…first, I put Liquid Glue on the back of the small card (with the card closed) and adhered it to the center of the larger card’s inside back panel.
Then I opened the small card up and closed the front panel of the large card.
I added Liquid Glue to the BACK of the front panel of the small card…
…and then closed the card up – adhering the small card’s front panel to the large card’s front panel! 🙂
And…the Double Z-fold card appears!
To make the flower – I colored enough Vellum cardstock with my Dark Bubble Bath Stampin’ Blend to be able to cut out three petals from the Translucent Florals dies. I used the little flower center die to cut out a Calypso Coral center.
I lightly curled the vellum petals with a Bone Folder and then used a couple of Glue Dots to adhere the two large petals together. Then I added the smaller petal on top – and finally the Calypso Coral flower center.
Using a Glue Dot – I adhered the completed flower to the front corner of the small card base.
I colored some Vellum with my Dark Parakeet Party Stampin Blend and cut two large leaves. Then I tucked them under the petals – adhering them with a couple of Glue Dots!
I added a few Pretty Peacock sequins from the Adhesive-backed Sequins Trio and the card front was done.
I decided to add a spot for a message on the back, so…I stamped the Translucent Florals foliage in Lost Lagoon on a piece of Basic White cardstock.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Bubble Bath mat and then onto the back of the card base and the card was done!
My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Translucent Florals sprig on the front…
…and more of that gorgeous Delightful Floral DSP on the envelope flap!
Et Voila! Y’all – the Delightful Floral DSP is SO aptly named – it is beautiful and gorgeous and….just DELIGHTFUL! I love it so much! And it’s great paired with almost anything – but…it’s PERFECT with the Translucent Florals bundle! How pretty is that vellum flower?! 🙂
I hope you like!
