Stampin’ Up! Festive & Fun on Tiny Trees Sneak Peek Christmas with Video Tutorial

Good morning!  It’s Sunday – mid-way thru a three-day weekend!  I hope you GOT a three-day weekend and are doing something fun!

Last night – I did the first installment of my 17 Saturday’s Till Christmas series of videos!  So – that means I’m sharing a Christmas card with you!  It features a sneak peek at the cute Festive & Fun stamp set and the stand-alone Tiny Trees Die.  Take a look-see:

The fun ROYGBIV color palette is from this week’s Global Design Project color challenge! I just had to try to make a Christmas card using all the colors in the rainbow! 🙂

And the layout was inspired by the sketch from the Tuesday Morning Sketch chalkenge – I flipped it on its side!

I started by adhering a piece of Granny Apple Green Foil (from the Melon Mambo & Granny Apple Green Foil pack coming soon in the Sept – Dec 2023 Mini) to the front of a Shaded Spruce card base using Liquid Glue.

I used the new Tiny Trees die to cut from a Shaded Spruce card front – then I adhered the panel the front of the card base – over the foil piece – with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I used two lengths of Parakeet Party twine from the 2022-2024 In Color Baker’s Twine pack to tie a big-looped simple bow, which I adhered to the card front with some Liquid Glue.

I cut out a Deckled Circle from Basic White cardstock, embossed it in the Christmas Tidings Embossing Folder (get BOTH of these cool tools on 6 Sept!) and adhered it over the bow with double-stacked Stampin’ Dimensionals.

On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the giraffe image from the new Festive & Fun stamp set (from the new catalog) in Crumb Cake ink.  I used a bunch of Stampin’ Blends to color him – all were the Light Blends in each pack:

– Lemon Lolly – his body, an ornament

– Pumpkin Pie – spots

– Poppy Parade – hat, berries on basket, bow on tree pot, stripe on one ornament

– Granny Apple Green – tree, a couple ornaments

– Shaded Spruce – shadows on tree, holly on basket

– Blackberry Bliss – stripe on ornament

– Azure Afternoon – basket

– Misty Moonlight – tree pot

I fussy cut the image – don’t panic, just take your time! – and adhered it to the embossed circle with Liquid Glue.

I used the Crushed Curry Stampin’ Write Marker to color the star.

On a piece of Poppy Parade, I stamped the Festive & Bright sentiment in Versamark ink, sprinkled it with white Embossing Powder and heat set it.

When the embossing powder was cool, I snipped out the three words using my Paper Snips.  I adhered them to the embossed circle with Liquid Glue.

I used the Dark Blackberry Bliss Stampin’ Blend to color some white Adhesive-backed Glitter Sequins (coming on 6 Sep).  Then I added them and a few blue sequins to the card front – making them into ornaments – and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped the Festive & Bright sentiment in Poppy Parade on a Basic White panel. In the corner, I stamped the little bird from the set in Crumb Cake ink.  I colored him with my Azure Afternoon, Misty Moonlight and Poppy Parade Stampin’ Blends.  A little Crumb Cake under him put him on solid ground.  Then I added a few blue and green Adhesive-backed Glitter Sequins.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Granny Apple Green Foil mat and into the Shaded Spruce card base and the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the little Festive & Fun bird on the front…

…and some fun striped Merry, Bold & Bright DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I think I did it!  I think I made this Christmas card even MORE Festive & Fun using the ROYGBIV color palette – don’t you just love that giraffagus?!?  And the Tiny Trees – what a totally fun die – think of all the card fronts that you could do with it! 🙂

I hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

Most evenings when we go to feed, we don’t put the e-collar on Finn.  Which means – he doesn’t have a long “tail” on the collar to grab.

For several weeks now, he’s not been at all interested in “holding the dog” (carrying the tail of the collar around on our walk).  But…a few days ago – he went back to wanting to do that.

Without the long collar “tail” – he has to do the next best thing.

It requires a lot of grabbing and twisting and contorting…

…but eventually he gets the AirTag in his mouth and proudly leads himself around to the door.

He’s got it gripped in the right side of his mouth and is thinking he can “get away” with taking it with him into the living room.  We let him think that.  🙂

Good thing it’s in a waterproof thingy! 🤦‍♀️
