Good morning, y’all! It’s Thursday – which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop. We’ve got a theme challenge (and it’s SMACK in my wheelhouse!!) to work with and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table. I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!
When someone says “you have to do a fun fold” – I’m all in all the time! I decided that I’d do another Bay Window fold for you – but…this is a Fall themed card. I’m giving you a sneaky peek at another new bundle – coming on 6 Sept! This is the Pick of the Patch bundle – and it’s a PUNCH bundle. Yeah! And – All About Autumn DSP and the Deckled Circles made yet another appearacne. Take a look-see:
Here’s our challenge!
I started with a 4 1/4″ x 11″ piece of Pecan Pie cardstock that I scored at 1/4″, 1 1/2″, 3 1/4″, 4 1/2″ and 5 1/2 along the long side.
I started folding at the 5 1/2″ score line – folding it as a mountain. The next score line is a valley – then mountain – mountain – valley (this is the 1/4″ line).
Using Liquid Glue just between the 4 1/2″ and 5 1/2” score lines, I adhered the front of the card base to the back – just in that 1” area.
To cut the DSP panels – I used my Paper Trimmer and cut the 6″ x 6″ piece of All About Autumn 6″ x 6″ DSP (this will be available to you on 6 Sept!) at 4″. Then – starting on one end, I cut a 3/4″ wide piece, then a 1″ piece, a 1 1/2″ piece, another 1″ piece and finally a 3/4″ wide piece. This means that my design will flow right across the card!
I used Liquid Glue to adhere all the DSP strips to Distressed Gold Specialty Paper mats.
Starting on the left side, I adhered each matted strip to the Pecan Pie panels – in order! – with Liquid Glue. When I got to the final strip – I adhered IT to the 1″ x 4 1/8″ piece of Pecan Pie cardstock.
Using Stampin’ Dimensionals – I adhered that last stand-alone piece to the very far right of the card base – making sure to line up the edges of the strip with the edges of the card base.
On a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, I stamped a Pick of the Patch sentiment in Pecan Pie ink. In the corner, I stamped three pumpkins. Before I got going – I stamped two of the set’s pumpkins on sticky notes and cut them out to make two masks.
– Stamp the first pumpkin on the panel in stamped-off-once Petal Pink.
– Cover it with its mask.
– Stamp the second pumpkin in stamped-off-once Pumpkin Pie.
– Cover it with its mask.
– Stamp the gourd image in stamped-off-once Gray Granite.
– Remove the masks and stamp the stem image in stamped-off-once Pecan Pie for each pumpkin/gourd.
– Stamp the tendril in stamped-off-once Pecan Pie.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Distressed Gold mat and into the inside of the card.
For the front, I cut out a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock using the sixth-from-smallest Deckled Circles die. Told ya I’d be using this a lot!! 🙂
On it, I stamped Pick of the Patch leaves (in stamped-off-once Petal Pink and Pumpkin Pie), dots (in stamped-off-once Gray Granite) and some tendrils in Pecan Pie ink.
On another piece of Very Vanilla, I stamped the Pick of the Patch pumpkins again:
– Two in stamped-off-once Pumpkin Pie (one of these will Punch with the Pick of the Patch Builder Punch – the second one I fussy cut).
– One in stamped-off-once Petal Pink – this one I punched with the bundled Punch.
– The gourd in stamped-off-once Gray Granite – this one I fussy cut.
– Another pumpkin in stamped-off-once Gray Granite – this one worked with the Punch.
I also used the punch to cut out five stems from Pecan Pie cardstock – which I adhered to the tops of the squashes with a little Liquid Glue. And I punched out five leaves from Distressed Gold Specialty Paper.
Then – I adhered everything to the die cut circle using Liquid Glue.
On a strip of Very Vanilla cardstock, I stamped the Pick of the Patch sentiment in Pecan Pie ink.
I colored a length of Black & White 1/4″ Gingham Ribbon with my Dark Pecan Pie Stampin’ Blend.
Then I ran Stampin’ Seal + down the back of the sentiment strip and used it to add the colored ribbon in little loops.
Using Stampin’ Dimensionals, I adhered the be-ribboned sentiment to the circle.
Then I added some coppery Neutrals Adhesive-backed Sequins.
Using some Liquid Glue on the middle panel of the card base, I adhered the sentiment circle to the card front.
This cool card lays flat to go in a Medium Envelope. To make the “bay” – you (and your recipient) slide the 1/4″ tab under the popped up panel on the right side of the card! And it even stands up on its own!
My Basic White Medium Envelope got the cluster of Pick of the Patch pumpkins (using those masks again), stems and a tendril or two – on the front…
…and more of the All About Autumn 6″ x 6″ DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! Oh my. This card has ALL the things! Fall? Check! Fun Fold? Check! Pumpkins? Check! A really cool ribbon thingy and some bling? Check and check! The new Pick of the Patch stamp set – and its bundled Pick of the Patch Builder Punch – is wunnermus! I mean – who doesn’t love punches?? And I think I’ve waxed enthusiastic plenty over the All About Autumn DSP and Deckled Circles, don’t you think!?!
I hope you like!
