Stampin’ Up! Trucking Along Square Front Flap Christmas Card for the SU Demos Fun Fold Blog Hop

Good morning everyone and welcome to the Fun Folds Blog Hop for Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators!  We’ve got a talented line-up and…I think you’re going to like what you see!  This is a once-a-month hop and…all our cards will be fun folds!!  How cool is that?!?

As we near the end of July – I thought another Christmas card was in order.  I mean…we’re less than 6 months away from the real deal!  Yikes!  So – I pulled out the Trucking Along stamp set and some pretty One Horse Open Sleigh 6″ x 6″ DSP – BOTH of which are Online Exclusives!  And I used them to make a super easy Square Front Flap fun fold.  Take a look-see:

And I played along with the MFT Card Challenges July Ready.Set.Christmas. theme challenge!

I started by cutting a piece of the One Horse Open Sleigh 6″ x 6″ DSP down to card front size of 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″.  From the panel, I cut out a piece of the DSP using the largest Stylish Shapes square die and making sure to get the pretty church included in the die cut. Note: when you cut the 6″ x 6″ DSP down to size – think about where the church will be on the final panel.  Wherever IT is is where your small card will end up.  I wanted my little card off-set a little, so… 🙂

Then, using Liquid Glue, I adhered the panel to a Cajun Craze mat for the card front.

I made the little card on the front by scoring and folding a 3″ x 6″ piece of Cajun Craze cardstock at 3″.

On a piece of Basic White, I stamped the Trucking Along pickup in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  I stamped the fill image in Pool Party Ink.

I stamped the “Farm Fresh” on the truck door in Cajun Craze.  Then I colored the tires with my Light Basic Black Stampin’ Blend and the hub cap with a Pool Party Stampin’ Write Marker.

I added “ground” in Early Espresso (that’s a stamp in the set), some clouds in stamped-off-once Lost Lagoon, and a sentiment in Cajun Craze.

The tree is stamped in Mossy Meadow – for the outline – and Old Olive for the fill.  Then I cut the little scene out using the largest Stylish Shapes square die.

I added some ornaments with gold Metallic Enamel Effects, let it dry completely and then matted the panel on Early Espresso using Liquid Glue.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the matted panel to the front of the small Cajun Craze card base and then adhered the little card to the card front with more Liquid Glue.  Note: I made sure to completely cover up the hole created when I die cut the Stylish Shapes square from it in the first place.

For the inside, I just stamped a second Trucking Along sentiment in Cajun Craze on the Stylish Shapes square that I’d initially cut from the card front.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to an Early Espresso mat and into the small Cajun Craze card base and the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Trucking Along truck and tree on the front…

…and more One Horse Open Sleigh DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  SUPER easy, right?  And – all with one piece of One Horse Open Sleigh – I love this design with the pretty church and wintery trees!  The adorable truck is really fun and simple to get the stamps lined up correctly.  With multiple options for “cargo” – this tree – a palm tree – presents – you can use the cute Trucking Along year round!
