Stampin’ Up! Forever Fern Hello Card

Good morning and welcome to the week!  It’s T-1 Day until the Last Chance Sale Prices go live!  You can buy items on that list NOW but if you’re holding out for the sale prices – they’ll be here tomorrow!  Whoo-hoo!

My card today is a quick and easy little number that showcases one of the pretty stamp sets on the Last Chance list – it’s called Forever Fern – and it’s gorgeous!  I used the Framed Florets dies (ALSO retiring with a 60% discount starting tomorrow!) to create my mask for this card.  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one is from the Freshly Made Sketches challenge this week.

And the pretty color palette is from the Color Throwdown challenge.

I started by using the oval die from the Framed Florets die set to cut out an oval from the middle of a 3 7/8″ x  5 1/8″ (so…same size as my card front) piece of cardstock (I used Basic White but…any color works).  Using re-positionable adhesive – I secured the resulting “mask” over my actual Basic White card front.

I used a Blending Brush to add Daffodil Delight ink – keeping the darker portions near the outer edge of the oval.

I removed the mask and used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Gray Granite mat.

Then I stamped the large leaves image and the “pod” image from the Forever Fern set in Soft Succulent on the left side of the oval.

I stamped the small leaves image a couple of times in Gray Granite ink.

I tied a small bow from Gray Granite twine and adhered it with a Glue Dot.

On a piece of Basic White, I stamped the Forever Fern sentiment in Soft Succulent and cut it out with the small Stylish Shapes banner die.

I adhered the sentiment over the bow with a couple of Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Using my Gray Granite Stampin’ Write Marker – have you heard that we have NEW and IMPROVED Markers coming in the new catalog?!? – to add faux stitches around the edge of the oval.

Then I added a few Soft Succulent 2021-2023 In Color Opal Rounds and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped Soft Succulent and Gray Granite Forever Fern leaves in the corner of a Basic White panel.  Then I added some Forever Fern splatters in stamped-off-once Daffodil Delight.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Gray Granite mat and into my Soft Succulent card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Forever Fern leaves and splatters on the front…

…and again on the envelope flap!

Et Voila!  This Forever Fern set is one of my faves – I love it in the soft, earthy colors on this card – it’s so organic!  And the Framed Florets die set is a great tool for all sorts of pretty shapes for your projects.  And….60% off is a pretty good lick! 😉

  2. Such a pretty card Mary! Love the clean design, perfect way to show off that pretty stamp set! 🙂 Poor Finn…he does have a rough life, so much that he wants to do but he’s afraid to leave your side for fear that he’ll miss out on the really fun thing that day. 😉
