Stampin’ Up! Abigail Cottage Rose Birthday Card with Video Tutorial

Good morning and Happy Friday!  What’s on the agenda for your weekend?  We’re going to get some dinner tonight with friends and then.. I dunno what our plan is for the rest of the weekend…guess we’ll play it by ear! 🙂

My card today uses the pretty Cottage Rose stamp set, bundled with the Cottage Flowers die set and some gorgeous Abigail Rose DSP – all of which is retiring SOON!!  So…that means if you don’t have it in your stash yet…now’d be a great time to remedy that.  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one is from The Paper Players challenge this week!

I started by adhering some Abigail Rose DSP to a Petal Pink mat using Liquid Glue.

Using the largest angle-top die in the Tailor Made Tags die set (THIS one is carrying over into the new 2023-2024 Annual Catalog) to cut out two more designs from the DSP.  I adhered both die cut tags to the card front with Liquid Glue.

Using the Cottage Rose leaves stamp and Mossy Meadow ink, I stamped a length of Natural Finish 7/8″ Ribbon (retiring soon!).  Then I adhered it to the card front with Stampin’ Seal.

On a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, I stamped two leaves from the Cottage Rose set in Mossy Meadow ink.  I colored them with my Light Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Blend and then cut them out with the matching die in the Cottage Flowers set.

I also stamped the small flower twice in Crumb Cake and colored them with the Light and Dark Petal Pink Stampin’ Blends, then cut them out, too.

Finally, I cut a couple of the detailed flower dies from Very Vanilla cardstock, using the Cottage Flowers dies.

I adhered the leaves and one of the stamped flowers using Liquid Glue.

I adhered the top flower with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Using two lengths of Linen Thread, I tied a simple bow and adhered it to the card front with a Glue Dot.

I stamped the Cottage Rose sentiment in Petal Pink on a piece of Very Vanilla and cut it with the smallest narrow Stitched Rectangle Die (THIS SET IS RETIRING! 😔😔😔).

Using a single Dimensional just to the left of the bow – and a few double-stacked Dimensionals on the right side, I adhered the sentiment die cut.

I added a few Rustic Metallic Adhesive-backed Dots (carrying over, thank goodness!) and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped the small flower twice on the bottom of a Very Vanilla panel.  Then I colored them with the Light and Dark Petal Pink Stampin’ Blends.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Petal Pink mat and into my Early Espresso card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got the Cottage Rose flowers on the front…

…and more Abigail Rose DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  This is such a sweet and pretty stamp set and dies.  The sentiments in Cottage Rose are perfectly complemented by the bundled Cottage Flowers dies cut out all the images – AND give you even more die cuts to add pretty detail!  Get it before it – and the coordinating Abigail Rose DSP – retires – it’s super handy to have on hand!
