Stampin’ Up! Forever Flourishing Fern Any Occasion Card with Video Tutorial

Good morning and happy weekend-eve!  Hope you’ve got something fun planned for the weekend. I honestly don’t know WHAT is on our playlist so…I’m just going to play it by ear! 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

My card today is another CASE (I know – it’s like I’ve not had an original thought in my head all week!! 😉 ) – this one from my friend and upline Amy Koenders!  Her shoebox swap card from the retreat last weekend – using the Brightest Beauty bundle – really inspired me for this one – but I used the Forever Fern stamp set and coordinating Forever Flourishing Die set!  And…the cool a la carte die set called Fabulous Frames.  Take a look-see:

There’s no Stampin’ Up! DSP on this card!  Whaaaa?!?  That’s right – I made my own!

I started with a panel of Sahara Sand cardstock.  Note: you can use however big a panel that you like – you just need it to be at least 3″ wide and 5″ long so that you can cut the three 1″ x 5″ strips when you’re done.

On the panel, I stamped three different leaf images from the Forever Fern stamp set all over the panel.  The large leaf in stamped-off-once Soft Sea Foam, a small leaf in full-strength Soft Sea Foam and the “seed pod” in stamped off once Pool Party ink.  Tip: stamp the leaves going in different directions, let them overlap each other, let them run off the edge of the panel. 😉

Then I added the sweet little splatter image in Petal Pink all over.

I cut out three 1″ x 5″ strips and adhered them to the front of a Sahara Sand card base using Liquid Glue.

From a piece of Vellum cardstock, I cut the frame from the Fabulous Frames die set and adhered it to the card front using Glue Dots.

I cut two leaves using the Forever Flourishing Dies – one from Pool Party and one from Soft Sea Foam – then adhered them with Liquid Glue.

I tied a little bow from a piece of Very Vanilla Baker’s Twine – from the Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack – and adhered it with a Glue Dot.

On a piece of Petal Pink, I stamped the Forever Fern sentiment in Calypso Coral and cut it out with a label die from the Fabulous Frames set.

Using double-stacked Stampin’ Dimensionals, I adhered the sentiment over the bow.

Finally, I added some Fine Sparkle Adhesive-backed Gems and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped more Forever Fern leaves in stamped-off-once Soft Sea Foam, stamped-off-once Pool Party and full-strength Soft Sea Foam.  I added the Petal Pink splatters, too.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Calypso Coral mat and into the Sahara Sand card base and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Forever Fern leaves and splatters on the front…

…AND on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I love the Forever Fern stamp set – and I’d sort of forgotten how MUCH!  It’s so darned pretty – and the coordinating Forever Flourishing is a wonderful way to add gorgeous foliage to your projects!  Do you know about the a la carte dies – the ones that stand alone, with no connection to a stamp set?  There are several of them in the 2022-2023 Annual Catalog – and the Fabulous Frames die set is just one of them!  Be sure to check it out!

  1. Such a pretty card Mary! Love the “DSP” panels on the background, the soft colors are perfect! That is quite the stick…guessing that it took a few trips to the woods to find the perfect one. And I’m sure that he was allowed to bring it right into the house too. 😉

    • stampsnlingers

Well….uhm…no….he had to leave it for the next day. Setting boundaries for the children is important! 😉 Thanks so much, Amy! 🙂

  2. Elisha Smith

Beautiful card! I love this layout👍I don’t have that frame die, but maybe the Fitting Floret oval die would work😊 Have a great weekend!!

    • stampsnlingers

Oh yes!! I bet it would work great! Thanks so much, Elisha! 🙂

  3. Very pretty card! Love that fern bundle and great way to make your own DSP. I don’t think I would have come up with the Sahara Sand/soft sea foam/pool party mix for it, but it is lovely. Will have to CASE! Finn reminds me of my/neighbor’s dog, Kalvin, who also loves a good stick! (He is really their dog, but frequents my place, and meets me when I come home, so I sort of claim him.)

    • stampsnlingers

Sticks are just FUN!! Glad you have a dog of your “own”, Julie! 😉 Thanks so much! 🙂

    Who doesn’t.
