Stampin’ Up! Soft Seedlings & Ferns Thank You Card with Video Tutorial

Good morning and Happy Friday!  Have you had a good week?  We have – we’ve gotten a lot of things done this week – including getting internet extended from the house to the barn!  Which means we’re able to have a bluetooth camera in the barn and…now we can keep an eye on the ponies in their bedrooms at night!  They don’t seem to mind the lack of privacy! 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

My card today features the beautiful Soft Seedlings stamp set and the Fern 3D Embossing Folder with a few die cut shapes from the Stitched Rectangles and Stylish Shapes die sets.  Take a look-see!

This fun layout was inspired by the Sketch Saturday challenge.

And the color palette is based on the Color Throwdown challenge.

I started by embossing an Early Espresso panel in the Fern 3D Embossing Folder and then matting it on Pool Party cardstock for the card front.

On a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, I stamped the large and small images from Soft Seedlings.  Tip:  don’t try to use too small a piece of cardstock here – I used one that was 4 1/4″ x 6″! 🙂

I inked the large Soft Seedlings image in Daffodil Delight and then used a Sponge Dauber to add Granny Apple Green to the stems and the base of the leaves.  Then I randomly stamped it all over the Very Vanilla panel.  I also stamped the small image in Daffodil Delight (no dauber-ing!).

When I was done, I set out a couple of dies from the Stylish Shapes set and one of the Stitched Rectangle dies…

Note: I ended up with one of the Stitched Rectangle die cuts and three from Stylish Shapes (you can see how many of those I cut from the picture above).

I adhered the die cut shapes to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Using Stampin’ Seal, I adhered a looped “z” of Pool Party 3/8″ Sheer Ribbon.

On another piece of Very Vanilla, I stamped the Soft Seedlings sentiment in Pool Party and cut it with one of the label dies from Stylish Shapes.

I popped the sentiment over the ribbon with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Using my Dark Pool Party Stampin’ Blend, I colored a small Rhinestone Basic Jewel and adhered it to the sentiment label and the card front was done.

On the inside, I stamped a second Soft Seedlings sentiment in Pool Party on a Very Vanilla panel.  In the corner, I stamped the large leaf image in Daffodil Delight (with the Granny Apple Green dauber-ing!).

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Pool Party mat and into my Early Espresso card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got the large Soft Seedlings image on the front…

…and the small Daffodil Delight image on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I’ll tell you – this Soft Seedlings set is truly gorgeous!  It’s really kind easy to overlook it in the catalog and that’s a shame! And the Fern 3D Embossing Folder gives such amazing texture – I love it!!

I ALSO love this inking method with this stamp set, don’t you?  No matter how many of these cards you make – each one is going to look just a little different!

Use this host code when you order $50 or greater and receive a free gift (AND the Monthly Card Tutorial) from me!  If your order is over $150, please do not use this code, but you’ll still get the free gift.  The free gift is your choice of any item valued up to $10.00 in any active Catalog!  That includes some of the Host Exclusive stamp sets!  See my Customer Rewards page for full details.

Note: Make sure that you can see my name on the final checkout page listed as your Demonstrator when you order so that you know that you’re ordering with me and you’ll get my rewards!

In response to changing policies at Stampin’ Up – I’m adjusting my Ordering Gift policy as well.  😔   I’m having to get a little more hard-over on the adding of Host codes when you place your order thru my Online Store.

Not to worry – you’re still going to get that $10 ordering gift for orders of $50 (before shipping & tax) or greater (I’m not a monster!! 😎).  And the gift is still any SU! product up to that $10 value – which includes some of our fun Host Sets!

But – if you DO NOT use the code for your orders of less than $150 (this is the RETAIL total before Shipping & Handling), then you’ll have two options:

  1. You’ll need to call Stampin’ Up! (1-800-Stamp-Up) and ask them to add it for you. They’re very helpful and will get it done lickety-split!  OR….
  2. If your order was over the $50 threshold but under $150, then…you’ll forfeit that $10 ordering gift – this is the Bummer Option – and I REALLY don’t want to do it, so….

You’ll still get the monthly tutorial and link to my monthly Zoom The Craftroom (YEAH!!) but….not that free goody!  And no one wants that to happen so….try to remember, okay!?

Click here to see instructions for how to add the code before you check out – it’s in Printable PDF Form so you can keep it handy! 🙂

Finn Fan Fix

We took the man to Home Depot the other day.

He’s ALWAYS up for a trip – and one to Home Depot is VERY high on the list of “good places to go”!

Is it time?

Can we go yet?

Where’s Dad?

Are you coming?!

LET’S GO!!!

He likes going into the Home Depot – LOTS of people like to pet him.  And sometimes we stand and chat with people and he gets to lie down on the cool concrete and show everyone what a good boy he is! 🙂

He ALSO always remembers the most basic thing – even if the door is open – you do NOT get out of the van until Mom or Dad says so.

Cuz of how he’s the smartest dog ever!!

Of course – neither one of us is EVER too far away – and I can move SERIOUS fast when I need to – cuz even smart boys sometimes forget…. 😉
