Stampin’ Up! He’s All That Fun Fold Gift Card Holder with Video Tutorial

Good morning and happy Sunday and MayDay!  Hope you’ve had a great weekend so far!  We spent yesterday looking for water lines in the garden.  We DID make a very big hole – okay…TWO!…but never found the lines.  So – time for plan B for getting the waterers in the garden! 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

My card today would be perfect for someone like my husband.  Masculine – check.  Can do anything…check.  Enjoys Gift Cards…CHECK!  I made this one – it’s a fun fold that is ALSO a gift card holder – handy! – using the cool He’s All That stamp set and the coordinating He’s the Man DSP.  ALL of which you’re going to be able to get for yourself the day after tomorrow on the 3rd!  Take a look-see:

This is a modification of a fold I’ve done before – I saw this version on Lisa Curcio’s site and decided to give it a go!

I also did a video tutorial on how to make it, and if you were able to watch it live yesterday I appreciate you spending part of your weekend with me.  If you missed it and would like to check it out, here ’tis!

I started by folding a strip of Cajun Craze cardstock in half to make the little card on the front.  Using Liquid Glue, I adhered the inside back of this little card to the back of my He’s The Man DSP panel.

Note: when you open the flap – you will only see pretty paper – not the back of the little card!  Cool!

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the DSP panel – with the card attached – to a Cajun Craze “mat”.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere a piece of the He’s The Man DSP to the front of the small card.

I cut a next-to-largest Stylish Shapes circle from Sahara Sand and then used my Stamparatus and the Marker-To-Stamp technique to stamp the He’s All That sentiment in Cajun Craze (the words) and Early Espresso (the mustache!).  With the Marker-to-Stamp technique, you use a Stampin’ Write Marker to color discreet parts of a stamp in different colors – and the Stamparatus makes it all possible!

I adhered the circle to the front of the small card using Liquid Glue.

With some Glue Dots, I adhered two lengths of Early Espresso 1/4″ Faux Suede Trim across the circle.

Then I adhered one of the cool die cuts from the He’s The Man DSP with Stampin’ Dimensionals – then added a Rustic Metallic Adhesive-backed Dot (ALSO new in the 2022-2023 Annual Catalog) and the card front was done.

For the inside, I used the Stamparatus to add another He’s All That sentiment in Early Espresso and Cajun Craze to a Sahara Sand rectangle.  Then I added some faux stitches with my Cajun Craze Stampin’ Write Marker and adhered the panel to the inside of the card with Liquid Glue.  Note: be sure that the inside panel is situated so that it’s hidden when the small card is closed! 😉

To make the gift card holder – I used the Essential Tag Punch to cut a “thumb hole” in the top of another piece of the He’s The Man DSP.  Then I used Tear & Tape Adhesive – right at the edges – and only on the sides and not-punched-out edge (that’s the bottom of the holder!) – to adhere the panel to the back of the card.

I used some Liquid Glue to adhere a die cut banner and sentiment oval – from the die cut sheets in the He’s The Man DSP pack – and the card was done! 🙂

Parfait!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got the little He’s All That “corner” image in Cajun Craze on the front…

…and more of the He’s The Man DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I like to give gift cards – and I know people like to get them – but…I always sort of feel like I’m “phoning it in”!  Making a fun gift card holder makes me feel WAY less that way!  And when I can get a perfectly manly-man-appropriate one for the hardest-to-give-to-people in my life…even better!  The He’s All That and coordinating He’s The Man DSP are the PERFECT solution!

I hope you like!

And – not for nuthin’ – you can pick up the He’s All That bundle, He’s The Man DSP and Rustic Metallic Dots plus four other stamp sets that will help you create those masculine projects in my Special Bundle #5 – It’s Kind of a Guy Thang bundle.  And – the Stylish Shapes dies are just ONE of the amazing die sets that are a la carte in the new catalog – and you can get almost all of them with Special Bundle #2 – A La Carte Die Cutting Wonders.

If you’d like to recreate this card, all the products and card cuts you’ll need are down below!

And…I’ve also created a printable PDF with written instructions and a list of the products used to create this project.  You can download, print and/or save it by clicking this image:

Finn Fan Fix

Back in the olden days (last evening!), people – and even their dogs (dogs are very particular and fastidious about what goes in their mouths, you know) used sticks to clean their teeth (I know this because I read it in the Outlander books and Dianna Gabaldon knows these things.)

Finn wanted you to see how to do it, in case you want to….you know….get back to nature and stuff!

Observe.

First – hold the stick comfortably – preferably in both hands.

Commence to chewing – use an up-down-side-to-side chewing pattern for best results.

Don’t forget the backs!  People (and slovenly dogs!) ALWAYS forget the BACK!!

Finish with a flourish.

Do not be alarmed if the stick breaks.  Just go ahead and chew up the pieces and swallow them.

There are a lot of sticks around and if it gives you a belly ache well…a trip to the vet is always a treat for your parents!

  1. Such a cool design! Love the colors and the gift card holder on the back is awesome. Sorry that I missed your live last night, I’ll check out the replay. 🙂 Yes, Finn does seem to have that stick chewing/teeth cleaning thing down to an art. Hopefully the chewed up sticks do not make a rapid return on the carpet once he’s inside. 😉

    • stampsnlingers

Fortunately he doesn’t do that TOO often! Whew! Thanks, Amy! 🙂

  2. Great guy card! Doubt that the 4 legged guy would appreciate it enough…might chew on it though!

    • stampsnlingers

He would FOR SURE give it a taste or two! 👀👀👀 Thank, Julie! 🙂
