Stampin’ Up! Flowering Rain Boots in Hues of Happiness Fun Fold with Video Tutorial

Good morning, y’all and happy Friday!  We’re on the cusp of the weekend and I hope you’re making plans to do something fun!   We’re building a new garden shed so that’s for sure on the list!  And…tending the garden.  And – I’ll be doing a little more craft-room tidying.  So…it’ll be Monday before we know it!

My card today is a fun fold – and it’s SO easy – and it REALLY showcases one of the most beautiful papers I’ve seen in a long time – and we’ve had heaps and tons of gorgeous papers, haven’t we?  This one is called Hues of Happiness and it’ll be available on 3 May with the new 2022-2024 Annual Catalog.  And – for the art and sentiments, I tapped the Flowering Rain Boots bundle from the Jan – Jun 2022 Mini Catalog.  Take a look-see:

If you were able to join me last night for my Facebook Live tutorial, I appreciate you spending part of your week with me!  If not but you’d like to take a gander at the replay, here ’tis on my YouTube channel!

The theme for this card was inspired by the challenge over at The Paper Players this week

And the color palette for the sample card was a result of the Color Throwdown Challenge.

And there are many elements here that are from the Tic-Tac-Toe challenge this week. I went down the middle column! 🙂

I started by adhering a piece of the stunning Hues of Happiness DSP on the front and back of my Mango Melody card base, using Liquid Glue.  Note:  the second sample uses a Night of Navy card base.

I cut a smaller, more flower-dy, piece of the Hues of Happiness and adhered it to the front of the card with Liquid Glue.

Using the large frame die in the new Fabulous Frames die set (this is coming on 3 May in the new catalog, too!)…

…I cut a Basic White frame and popped it over the smaller DSP panel with Foam Adhesive Strips.

On a piece of Basic White, I stamped the rain boots from the Flowering Rain Boots stamp set in Mango Melody Ink.  Note: the second sample was done in Pool Party.  I also stamped the stems in Granny Apple Green and the tulips in Melon Mambo (or Fresh Freesia, in the case of the second sample).  I cut the pieces out using their matching dies in the bundled Rain Boots die set.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the stems to the top of the boots and the tulips to the top of stems.

Then I adhered the boot over the frame with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped the Flowering Rain Boots sentiment in Melon Mambo (or Fresh Freesia) on a narrow strip of Basic White cardstock, snipped banners on each end and then used Liquid Glue and a Stampin’ Dimensional to adhere the sentiment over the boot.  And that was it for the front of the card.

For the back side, I stamped a second Flowering Rain Boots sentiment in Melon Mambo (Fresh Freesia on the second sample) on a Basic White panel.  In the corner, I added the stems in Granny Apple Green and the tulips in Melon Mambo or Pool Party.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the back of the card and then used more Liquid Glue to adhere another Basic White Fabulous Frame over the top.

Finally, it was time to make the “tent” portion of the card – thereby making it a fun fold!

I took a 3 1/4″ x 4″ piece of cardstock in the same color as the card base (Mango Melody or Night of Navy) and scored it at 3/8″, 1 5/8″ and 2 7/8″ along the 3 1/4″ side.

I folded the two edge score lines as “valleys” and the middle score line as a “mountain”….

…then I added Tear & Tape Adhesive to the small tabs.

I adhered the tent piece at the bottom of the card, between the front and back panels.  And…that was it!  Boom – tent fun fold!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Flowering Rain Boots flowers on the front….

…and more of the flower-dy Hues of Happiness DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!?  Was I right or was I right?!?  The Hues of Happiness DSP is simply stunning and I think it might be one of our prettiest ever (which is saying a LOT!).  I am also a big fan of the Flowering Rain Boots stamp set and bundled Rain Boots dies – they’re so perfect for sending a lovely card to someone who needs a lift.  And…what do you think of the Tent fold?  I think it’s pretty cool and it’s wonderful for making displaying your work of art a cinch!

I hope you like!
