Stampin’ Up! Calming Camellia on a Daffodil Afternoon for the Happy Inkin Thursday Blog Hop

Good morning, y’all!  It’s Thursday – which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!  We’ve got a color challenge to work with and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table – I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

When I saw the colors in our challenge this week I was like…AMY – thank you!  You gave us a color palette that shouts DAFFODIL AFTERNOON DSP!!  My fave paper ever!  Not being one to look a gift-paper in the mouth (this is FREE paper – see what I did there??), I pulled it out and decided to keep going with the FREE theme – and used the lovely Calming Camellia stamp set (this is the Sale-A-Bration Host set!).  Take a look-see:

Here’s that perfect palette!

And – this is so super easy – thanks to the layout from the Sunday Stamps challenge!

I said this is easy, so…pull out your Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine and Stitched Rectangle Dies and…buckle up! 😉

Using the largest die in the Stitched Rectangle Dies set – I cut a piece of Basic Black cardstock.  Then I embossed it in the Hive 3D Embossing Folder and adhered it to a Basic Black cardbase with Liquid Glue.

Using the next-smallest-die, I cut two gorgeous pieces of Daffodil Afternoon DSP (do you have this yet?  If you don’t – GET IT NOW – place an order over $50 and this is one you can pick – but…the end of Sale-A-Bration is coming soon!).

I adhered the plaid panel to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals on an angle.  Then I popped the second piece over top – it’s straight with the card base – with Black Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I tied a single-loop Linen Thread bow…just like a Double Loop bow – but…single! Wrap the thread around four fingers four times, twist the loops into a Figure-8 and tie a shorter length of thread around the loops.   Then I adhered it to the card front with a Glue Dot.

I know, I know – I JUST did this bow two days ago.  Sorry.  Not sorry! 😉

On a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, I stamped a Calming Camellia sentiment in Evening Evergreen and cut it out with the next-to-smallest skinny die in the Stitched Rectangle Die.

With double-stacked Black Stampin’ Dimensionals, I adhered the sentiment to the card front.

I used Glue Dots to add three Bumblebee Trinkets here and there on the card front.

A vanilla Classic Matte Dot on the sentiment finished off the card front.

On the inside, I cut another piece of Daffodil Afternoon DSP with the largest Stitched Rectangle Die and adhered it at an angle with Liquid Glue.  I cut a piece of Very Vanilla with the same die and stamped the large Calming Camellia floral in Flirty Flamingo in the corner.  Note:  this is a DistINKtive stamp set, so it’s helpful to ink the stamp, then daub-daub-daub all over it with an inked Sponge Dauber!  Over the flower, I stamped a second sentiment in Evening Evergreen.  Then I added another vanilla Classic Matte Dot.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel inside the card base and the card was done.

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got the Calming Camellia flower on the front…

…and a little more Daffodil Afternoon DSP on the envelope flap (I decided to use a different pattern just so the recipient would get even MORE beautifulness!)

Et Voila!  This card has SO many elements I love – from the angled panels to the embossing on the card front, the stunning wish-it-would-never-leave-us Daffodil Afternoon DSP and gorgeous Calming Camellia stamp set.  It’s a very sweet added bonus that both the paper and the stamp set can be yours for….FREE while Sale-A-Bration is going on (which means thru the end of this month!).  I think you know what you need to do to get these goodies for free but…if you do NOT – give me a holler!  I’ll get you all hooked up!

I hope you like!
