Stampin’ Up! Merriest Frames Pattern Best Year Deer

Well.  Here we are – day one of Standard Time.  I tried to tell myself yesterday that I was SOO happy that it was SORT of light at 7am.  And I believed it.  Sort of.  Until I had to feed in the pitch dark.  At 615pm.  Grrrr.  Hate.  It.  So.  Much!

At least there’s only 126 more days of it!  🙁

Fortunately, card making does NOT happen outside and I DO have lots of lights in my craft room so…I have a card for you!  Whoo-hooo!  This one features the gorgeous Merriest Moments Bundle with its wunnermus Merriest Frames Hybrid Embossing Folder.  A bold sentiment from the Best Year stamp set and…a red plaid Deer Builder Punch finished it off!  Take a look-see:

The color palette was the starting point for this one, and it was from the CAS Colours & Sketches challenge.

Hand Stamped Sentiments had a photo inspiration that – as you can see – informed some of my design choices! 🙂

I also added some elements thanks to the Festive Friday Inspo List. I got flowers – pearls – embossing – thank you sentiment – shimmer!

I started by embossing a piece of Basic White cardstock in the Merriest Frames Embossing Folder.

In the open middle “frame”, I stamped the sentiment from Best Year in Shaded Spruce.

Finally, I matted the embossed panel on a Basic White panel – and I actually popped it onto the mat with Stampin’ Dimensionals to create the card front.

On a piece of Basic White, I stamped some foliage from the Merriest Moments stamp set.  There’s a Cherry Cobbler berry bunch, a Pear Pizzazz leaf branch, Shaded Spruce holly leaves and some Pear Pizzazz/Shaded Spruce boughs.  For those – I inked the stamp in Pear Pizzazz, then used a Sponge Dauber to add Shaded Spruce to the centers of the boughs.

With everything stamped – I cut them all out with their matching Merriest Frames dies.

I took a piece of Pattern Party DSP (remember – this is the Host Exclusive paper from the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog that you can get with an individual or workshop order over $180 in retail!) and, using a Blending Brush, colored some of the black-and-white Buffalo Check paper in Cherry Cobbler.  Then I used the Deer Builder Punch to cut out a leaping deer.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere all the foliage to the card front – with the exception of the berries – those are popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Then I adhered the plaid deer with Liquid Glue.

Using the flower dies in the Merriest Frames die set, I cut four Gold Shimmer Vellum flowers and adhered them with little dabs of Liquid Glue.  Then I added a Pearl Basic Jewel to the middle of each flower – and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped a second Best Year sentiment in Shaded Spruce on a Basic White panel.  In the corner, I stamped the Merriest Moments berries in Cherry Cobbler.  I stamped them again on a sticky note and fussy cut them to make a mask.  I placed the mask over the berries and stamped the small holly leaf in Shaded Spruce.  Finally, I inked the smaller bough image in Pear Pizzazz and Shaded Spruce (using the dauber method, again) and stamped it as well.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Basic White panel and into my Thick Basic White card base, adhered the card front with Liquid Glue – and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Merriest Moments berries, holly and bough on the front…

…and more of the Pattern Party DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I love the Merriest Moments Bundle, don’t you?  And, while you CAN cut out the embossed shape using the Merriest Frames dies – don’t forget that you can also use it as a stand-alone embossed panel!  The center is perfect for adding big, bold sentiments like this one from the Best Year set.  The Deer Builder Punch (which is expected back in the warehouse the week of 15 Nov) creates a perfect embellishment – especially in plaid, like this one from the Pattern Party DSP!

I hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

Wayne was filling up the Man’s food bucket yesterday.

Finn saw…an opportunity!

He no dummy!  Get it while the gettin’s good!

The thing is – even with the MOTHERLODE in front of him – he was still so very dainty – no rushing, no trying to shove as much of it in as he could get.  Just pick up a few bites…chew contemplatively – next bite…repeat.

He’s so stinkin’ sweet!
