Stampin’ Up! Pretty Detailed Pumpkins Top-Fold Easel Card with Video Tutorial

Well – happy Friday again!  Last weekend was so busy – and FUN! – that it’s nice to say there’s…really nothing on the schedule for THIS weekend!  I know there are a lot of you out there in Blog-land that are in the clean-up phase after Ida – so that’s going to be a lot of hard work for a hot minute!  Sending positive thoughts and prayers out to you!

If you were able to join me yesterday for my YouTube live, I appreciate you spending part of your day with me!  If not, but you’d like to see how to make this card (it’s got some fun techniques in it – including a Double-Loop Bow demo!) – here’s the link to it on my YouTube channel!

I love the Pretty Pumpkins bundle SO much – the pretty images and sentiments – with its bundled Detailed Pumpkins Dies!  For this one I added those to a little bit of Beauty of the Earth DSP – and made a super cool fun-fold (she says ever-so-modestly!).  Take a look-see:

I played along with The Paper Players Tic-Tac-Toe challenge for this one.  I went across the top: Feminine – Friendship – Square Card (the easel is square – work with me here!).

I started with a 4 1/4″ x 11″ piece of Cajun Craze cardstock scored at 5 1/2″, 6 3/4″ and 8 7/8″ along the long-side.  I folded the 5 1/2” score as a valley (like a regular card). Then folded the 6 3/4” score the opposite direction. Finally – I folded the 8 7/8″ score opposite that (so…another valley).

I used Liquid Glue between the two closest score lines – then pressed the card front to the back – this adhered them together and created the top-fold.

I matted some Cajun Craze plaid paper from the Regals 6″ x 6″ DSP on Bumble Bee cardstock using Stampin’ Seal – then adhered the panels to the small top–fold panel – and the middle panel.

I adhered a piece of Beauty of the Earth DSP to a Bumble Bee mat.  I added Liquid Glue to the other small front panel and adhered the matted DSP panel to that – just on the bottom half – creating the easel/card front.

I stamped a piece of Basic White with a sentiment from Pretty Pumpkins in Cajun Craze ink.  Then I used the next-to-largest rectangle Stitched So Sweetly die to cut it out – putting the sentiment in the top right corner.

On another piece of Basic White, I stamped the three-pumpkin image from Pretty Pumpkins in Early Espresso and cut it with the matching die in the bundled Detailed Pumpkins.

I stamped the image again – once on Mango Melody (from the Brights 6″ x 6″ DSP) and once on Cajun Craze (from the Regals 6″ x 6″ DSP).  Then I fussy cut all six pumpkins.  😉

Using the leaf dies from Detailed Pumpkins, I cut three Mossy Meadow cardstock leaves and three Old Olive (Regals 6″ x 6″ DSP).

Tip:  by fussy cutting ALL the pumpkins and cutting the six leaves…you can make TWO of these cards! 🙂

I used my Early Espresso Stampin’ Write Marker to touch up all the outlines and inside lines – then used Liquid Glue to adhere the various fussy cut pumpkins over their counterparts on the stamped image.  Note:  this is “paper piecing”! 🙂

I adhered the leaves to the tops of the pumpkins with Liquid Glue and popped the whole thing onto the card front with more Dimensionals.

I matted a piece of Pumpkin Pie DSP – from the Brights 6″ x 6″ DSP pack – to a Bumble Bee cardstock mat and then into the inside of the card using Stampin’ Seal.

I stamped a second sentiment from Pretty Pumpkins in Cajun Craze on Basic White and cut it with a Stitched Rectangles Die.  Then I adhered it to the inside of the card.

I cut a Detailed Pumpkin from Cajun Craze – added the last two leaves with Liquid Glue – then popped it onto the inner liner with Stampin Dimensionals to create the easel “stop”.

I wrapped Linen Thread three times around the small top panel – securing it in the FRONT with a Glue Dot.  Then I tied a Linen Thread Double-Loop Bow and adhered that with a Glue Dot, too.  TIP:  if you’ve been wanting to see how to do these Double-Loop Bows – check the video towards the end!  I show you how to make them in this one!

I added some Brushed Metallic Adhesive-Backed Dots on the front and inside of the card – and the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the pretty ornamental pumpkin image from the Pretty Pumpkins set in Cajun Craze on the front…

…and more of the Beauty of the Earth DSP on the envelope flap!

Et Voila!  Oh my goodness, y’all!  This top-fold easel card might be one of my favorites yet!  I love the original side-fold versions – and this adds my beloved easel card to the mix!  BAM!  And – add the Pretty Pumpkins with the bundled Detailed Pumpkins Die set and…you’ve got a serious winner, here!

I hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

The shoer was here on Wednesday – mani’s and pedi’s all the way around for the girls.

No.  They do NOT wear Color Street! 😂

Finn sees trim day a little….differently.

It’s more like….a culinary spectacle!

First – he’s seated at The Chef’s Table (VERY exclusive!) where he can watch the action…

Order UP! It’s Small Plates…

Service, sir.

Mmmmm…..

It’s the original….farm-to-table! 😉

  1. Such a pretty card! Love the little plaid pumpkins. And I just threw up a little in my mouth at Finn eating those toe nails. Ewwwwwww!!!

Yes – I know! But…look at that happy face!! THEY don’t have food aversions. AT ALL! 🤢🤢🤢🤢 Thanks so much, Amy! 🙂

  2. Susan k

Et Voila! This might be my favorite new fun fold too! I love it and absolutely love the paper-pieced pumpkins! Great card! TFS
I understand the farm-to-table but not sure I understand the appeal to Finn—it looks yucky! Is it like a bone?

    • stampsnlingers

It’s a trimming from the hoof – dogs love them. I have no idea why- but…it’s sort of universal! 🤷‍♀️ Thanks so much, Susan – I love this bundle. And this fold! 🙂

  3. Oh, that Finnster and his delicacies! Too funny!! Love your card and sorry I missed you yesterday.

    • stampsnlingers

Yes – it’s sad that he NEVER gets anything tasty, isn’t it?! Thanks very much, Karen! 🙂

  4. Kathelyn Bush

My goodness! Is that “goodie” from the hoofs of your ponies??

    • stampsnlingers

Yes ma’am! The trimmings are nice little chewies for dogs! 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Love this card! Thanks for showing the bow. I feel like I could probably make one now. Also I didn’t know dogs like horse hooves. Have a great weekend, Mary!

    • stampsnlingers

Oh yes – they’re quite the delicacy! 😉 Thanks so much and…yes! You can for sure make a double loop bow! 🙂
