Stampin’ Up! Peaceful Place Merry Snowflakes Masculine card with Video Tutorial

Good morning, y’all!  Happy Friday!  Again.  Seriously – are you guys paying attention??  If not, you’re going to be shocked and dismayed when you wake up and I’ve started posting my countdown to Christmas graphics! 😳😳😳  Yes – time is literally flying by!

But – the loomingness of Christmas is part of why I have today’s card for you!  If you were able to join me yesterday for my YouTube video, then I thank you very much for spending a little time with me.  If not – but you’d like to see how to make this card (and…learn a couple of new – and AWESOME! – names for plaid-that-looks-like-flannel!), here’s the link to the video on YouTube!

I love the color combo of Merry Merlot – Evening Evergreen – Gray (it’s really wonderful for masculine cards – which can be HARD to make – am I right?!?) and the Peaceful Place Specialty DSP really works here with the new Merry Snowflakes bundle!  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one was inspired by a card my teammate Karen made this week – I remembered how much I like angled panels!

And I played along with the CAS Masculine challenge over at The Paper Players.

I started with a piece of plaid paper from the Peaceful Place Specialty DSP that I matted on Merry Merlot for the card front.

To create the angled panel – I adhered a piece of Merry Merlot cardstock in the corner of the card front with Liquid Glue.  Then I used my Paper Trimmer to trim off the excess cardstock.

I did the same process with a second piece of Peaceful Place Specialty DSP to create the DSP angle.  Then I matted the whole thing on an Evening Evergreen cardstock panel.

Now – the die set that’s bundled with the Merry Snowflakes stamp set – the Stitched Snowflakes set – is pretty darned awesome!  Look at all the pretty snowflakes you can cut!!

So – I cut a pretty snowflake from the shiniest silver in the Silver Foil Specialty Pack and adhered it with Liquid Glue to the card front.

On a strip of Basic White, I stamped the Merry Snowflakes sentiment in Evening Evergreen.  Then I snipped a banner in one end and added faux stitches with my Merry Merlot Stampin’ Write Marker.

I popped the sentiment on with Stampin’ Dimensionals – added an Evening Evergreen gem from the 2021-2023 In Color Jewels and the card front was done.

For the inside, I stamped a second sentiment from Merry Snowflakes in Evening Evergreen on Basic White.  Then I ran the panel thru the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine with the long die from Stitched Snowflakes in place – it doesn’t cut anything out – just sort of “embosses” the snowflakes into the panel. NOTE:  even though it doesn’t “cut” – be sure to use the die cutting sandwich in your cutting machine (not the embossing sandwich!).

I added another Evening Evergreen gem then used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to an Evening Evergreen mat and into my Merry Merlot card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got a few stamped snowflakes from the Merry Snowflakes set in Evening Evergreen on the front…

…and more of the Peaceful Place Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  It took me a minute to buy the Merry Snowflakes bundle  – I mean…there’s like FOREVER before Christmas, right?!? – but I am so happy to have it on the shelf now!  The bundled Stitched Snowflakes die set is stunning – you can cut pretty snowflakes for DAYS!  And the Peaceful Place Specialty DSP is…so elegant and gorgeous!  I love the designs!

I hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

I had a dentist appointment on Wednesday evening – at 6pm.  Yes.  6pm.  What the heck!??

But – I dutifully went – and…Finny couldn’t go.  Too hot still to wait in the car!

He was….not pleased! 😉

So – he peered at me thru the door – giving me the eyes AND the lips….

…just to make me feel bad!
