Stampin’ Up! Pretty Detailed Pumpkins Triple Twisted Easel Fun Fold with Video Tutorial

Well – the weekend is upon us again!  Hope you’ve got something cool planned.  No – literally “cool” – like…to counter the crazy heat!! I’ll be chopping shares today in the Air Conditioning and then…we’re planning to watch Black Widow tonight on our “home theater’.  Some people call that…the TV in the living room.  With a bag of Skinny Pop!! 😉

So – if you were able to join me yesterday for my YouTube live, I sure appreciate you spending part of your day with me!  If not, but you’d like to watch the replay to see how to make this fun fold card, here ’tis!

I made another Twisted Triple Easel card a few weeks back – using the wonderful Wild Cats bundle from the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog.  You can see it right here!

This one uses the same basic structure – the “cake” if you will – but it’s decorated with the amazingly pretty Pretty Pumpkins stamp set, with its bundled Detailed Pumpkins Dies.  And…Beauty of the Earth DSP!  Take a look-see:

I started by cutting a Misty Moonlight cardbase – it’s 5 1/4″ x 8 1/2″ (a little shy of the “normal” size – so you’ll hear me call it an A2-ish sized card on the video!).  I scored it at 4 1/4″ (as usual) – then used my Paper Trimmer to cut along the short side at 1 3/4″ and again at 3 1/2″.

Then I used the score blade to score three diagonal lines on the resulting strips.

I cut six 1 1/2″ x 4″ strips of Beauty of the Earth DSP – three each of two different designs, then used the Trimmer to create triangles.  Tip: take your time here and be sure that you’re cutting the triangles in the correct orientation (it matters!)  The video ‘splains how to do that a little better!  And here’s a graphic that may help you “see” it! 🙂

Then I used Liquid Glue to adhere the triangles to the card base.

The next step was to stamp the Pretty Pumpkins foliage in Mossy Meadow on a Basic White panel. I matted the panel on Mango Melody and adhered it to the inside of the card with Liquid Glue.

For the easel “stops”, I used Old Olive leaves cut using the Detailed Pumpkins dies – two are adhered with Liquid Glue and the other three (the actual “easels”) are popped up on Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I figured out where to put the leave by setting each “easel” how I wanted it and then adhering the leaves on the inner liner.

With the “cake” done – it was time to decorate!

I stamped some pumpkins from the Pretty Pumpkins stamp set – one of the leaf-filled images in Pumpkin Pie and one in Mango Melody – and cut them with the die in the bundled Detailed Pumpkins dies.  I also stamped a few of the large and small leaf images in Mossy Meadow on Basic White, colored them with the Old Olive and Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends and cut them all out with the die in the bundled Detailed Pumpkins dies. I cut a Pumpkin Pie detailed pumpkin, too.

Using the tall grasses die in the Harvest Die set, I cut a Bumble Bee grass.

Here’s a fun way to make the sentiment.  I stamped the Pretty Pumpkins sentiment in Early Espresso on Basic White and cut it with a Tasteful Labels die.  I also cut the label a second time from the Basic White panel.  I cut a little strip of Window Sheet (or….use one of the saved sheets from one of your new photopolymer stamp sets!).  I sandwiched this strip between the two die cut labels using Liquid Glue – then used that to tuck the sentiment into the scene.  That means it….”floats”!

Then it was time to decorate the front!  I used Liquid Glue to adhere all the die cut parts.  Tip:  be sure your die cuts don’t extend outside the bounds of your card front when the card is laying flat (like when you’re getting ready to put it in your Medium envelope)…

I started on the middle “easel” – first adding the “floating” sentiment, then building the collage around it.  You’ll need to adjust your grasses to be 1) short enough that they don’t spill off the edge and 2) set such that they don’t cover the sentiment.

On the back easel – I cut both of my die cut pumpkins way down – so that they didn’t extend past the top of the card!  And don’t forget to only use adhesive on the “front” facing triangles – otherwise…your easels won’t stand up!

I also added a few “foliage” die cuts from the Blackberry Beauty Ephemera Pack in a couple of spots to add some filler.  Think…baby’s breath in a bouquet! 😉

And – that was it for the card!!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the leaf from Pretty Pumpkin in Mossy Meadow on the front…colored with my Old Olive and Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends.

…and more of the Beauty of the Earth DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  The Pretty Pumpkin stamp set and its Detailed Pumpkin Die set are really gorgeous – I love love love the pumpkins and foliage you can create with it, don’t you?  And the Beauty of the Earth DSP provides the perfect
