Stampin’ Up! Whimsical Trees Sneak Peek with Video Tutorial

Well – good morning and welcome to AUGUST!  It’s like a million degrees here – and the humidity is the same.  So…I suppose that means the stores will be putting up Christmas decorations any day now! 😉

Not really.  But August DOES bring a few things that you need to have on your radar!

Whew – that’s a LOT in just a few days!!  What an exciting week!!

The first time I saw the Whimsy & Wonder DSP – from the new Jul – Dec 2021 Mini Catalog – I fell in love.

And…I totally shouldn’t have!  It’s really not in my usual color wheelhouse AT ALL!  But…love it I do indeed!  And the coordinating Whimsical Trees stamp set, with the bundled Christmas Tree Die set, is a wonderful accompaniment!   I used it ALL on this card!  Take a look-see:

The layout for this card is inspired by the sketch over at the Global Design Project!

I started by adhering a piece of Whimsy & Wonder Specialty DSP to a Polished Pink mat for the card front.

Then I cut a piece of Basic White and placed it in my Stamparatus.

Using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink – and the “hinge step” technique with the Stamparatus (one of its BIG bonus features!!), I stamped the ornaments image from Whimsical Trees three times.

I repositioned the stamp and, again by hinge-stepping, stamped the image two more times, between the original images.

I colored the ornaments using my Light & Dark Polished Pink and Mint Macaron Stampin’ Blends, Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blend and a Polished Pink Stampin’ Write Marker.

Then I matted the panel on Polished Pink and adhered it to the card front.

I stamped the sweet little holly image in Tuxedo Black twice on Basic White – colored it with my Blends and cut it with the die from the Christmas Trees Die set.

I popped the holly die cuts onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I tied a white Baker’s Twine bow – from the Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack – around a doubled-over length of new Blushing Bride 3/8″ Frayed Grosgrain Ribbon (coming in the new catalog on 3 Aug).  Then I used Stampin’ Seal+ to adhere the ribbon to the card front.

The sentiment, from Whimsical Trees, is stamped on Whimsy & Wonder Specialty DSP in Polished Pink and cut with the smallest narrow die in the Stitched Rectangles Die set.

I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop the sentiment on just above the ribbon.

I added a Mint Macaron Genial Gem to the sentiment banner and the card front was done!

On the inside, I added a second Whimsical Trees sentiment in Polished Pink on Basic White and added the holly image next to it!  Another Genial Gem finished it off!

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Polished Pink mat and into my Blushing Bride card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Whimsical Trees holly on the front…

…and more of the Whimsy & Wonder Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  So?  Are you as in love with this suite as I am?  The colors in the Whimsy & Wonder Specialty DSP just make me smile! 🙂  And the stylized images and sweet sentiments in Whimsical Trees are just wonderful – perfectly cut and complemented by the bundled Christmas Trees dies!
