Stampin’ Up! Painted Christmas Suite Sneak Peek with Video Tutorial

Good morning and happy Friday!  Been a busy week here – new catalogs to mail, videos to do – gardens to build!  Hope you’ve had a good week and have something fun on the books for the weekend!

So…if you were able to join me yesterday for my YouTube live (with a sneak peek from the new Jul – Dec 2021 Mini Catalog!) – I appreciate you spending part of your day with me.  If not, but you’d like to watch the replay – here’s the link!

When I first saw the new catalog – the Painted Christmas Suite – with its Christmas to Remember and Christmas Season bundles – caught my eye right away.  It was the PINECONES!!  They’re everywhere – from the stamp set images to the amazing Christmas Pinescones Die set – and we all kind of know how I feel about pinecones.  So…although I am not anxious for Christmas – I just HAD to use those sooner than later!  And…so I did – to make a super easy Side-Fold card for you.  Take a look-see:

While this is a fun fold, the layout for the front was inspired by the sketch over at Sunday Stamps this week.

To make the card base – the basis of the Side-Fold – I started with a piece of Early Espresso cardstock, cut to 4 1/4″ x 11″.  Along the long side, I scored at 5 1/2″ and again at 6 3/4″.  Then I folded the card at the 5 1/2″ score line as if for a “regular” card.  Then I folded the 6 3/4″ in the opposite direction.

I used Liquid Glue on the inside of the card base, just on the small 1 1/4″ section between the two folds – then used that to adhere the front and back together.

I cut a piece of new Gold Shimmer Vellum (coming on 3 Aug) and embossed it in the Timber 3D Embossing Folder (avail on 3 Aug).  Then I used a line of Liquid Glue to adhere it to a Cherry Cobbler mat and then to the small section of the card front.

The larger card front is a piece of Painted Christmas DSP (3 Aug), matted on Cherry Cobbler and adhered to the card front with Liquid Glue.

On a piece of Basic White, I stamped the sentiment from Christmas to Remember in Cherry Cobbler, then cut it out with a label die in the Seasonal Labels Die set (avail 3 Aug and bundled with the Christmas Season stamp set) and adhered it with Liquid Glue.

I stamped Christmas Season leaves in Pear Pizzazz, pine boughs in Evening Evergreen and berries in Cherry Cobbler – all on Basic White – and cut them with their matching dies from Seasonal Labels.   I used the dies in Christmas Pinecones to cut solid pine cones from Gold Shimmer Vellum and detailed cones from Early Espresso – adhering them together with Liquid Glue.

I layered up the parts of the collage, using Liquid Glue and Stampin’ Dimensionals, inserting some Gold Holly Leaves (3 Aug), too.  I also added a double-loop Linen Thread bow with a Glue Dot.

I wrapped a length of new Cherry Cobbler & Gold 1/2″ Ribbon (3 Aug) around the smaller panel on the front – over the embossed Gold Shimmer Paper – and secured it in the front with a Glue Dot.  Then I used another shorter length and tied it in a knot around the first ribbon to create a “faux bow”.

I added some new clear Wonderful Gems (avail on 3 Aug) here and there and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped a second sentiment from Christmas to Remember in Cherry Cobbler on a Basic White panel.  In the corner I added some Pear Pizzazz leaves, Evening Evergreen pine boughs (I stamped twice without re-inking), Cherry Cobbler berries and Soft Succulent dots.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Cherry Cobbler mat and into the card base – and the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got more of the Christmas Season foliage on the front…

…and more Painted Christmas DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Oh.  My.  Goodness!  How awesome is this Painted Christmas Suite?!?  Answer…TOTALLY awesome!! The two bundles – Christmas to Remember (bundled with the Christmas Pinecones Dies)…

and Christmas Season (with the bundled Seasonal Labels Dies)…

are wunnermus and designed to work together like peanut butter and jelly.  Or…George and Gracie!  Add in the Painted Christmas DSP and you’ll be ready for Christmas in July.  Or…you know – December!  🙂

I hope you like!
