Stampin’ Up! Pansy Patch Dual Panel Birthday

Good morning, y’all – it’s THE DAY!  When this posts, we’ll be arriving at the airport (in theory – assuming I can get my buhonkus outta bed when I need to to be ready to roll).  As I type this – at 10pm on Friday evening – I’m mentally cutting out stuff to do in the morning.  Like – the treadmill.  I suspect that in the course of this day I’ll get plenty of exercise.

My card today features one of my favorite flowers – pansies!!  Which means, of course, that I’ve used the new and wunnermus Pansy Patch bundle with the stunning Pansy Petals DSP to make a pretty birthday card.  Take a look-see:

The layout for this card is from the Mojo Monday sketch challenge.

And the theme is perfect for the Global Design Project theme challenge.

I started by adhering a piece of Pansy Petals DSP to a Fresh Freesia mat for the card front.  Then I adhered a smaller Basic White panel to the lower half of the card front with Liquid Glue. I wrapped a length of Fresh Freesia 3/8″ Open-Weave Ribbon around the panel, over the “seam”, securing it in the back with Glue Dots.

I matted some pretty Pale Papaya gingham paper from Pansy Petals on Fresh Freesia and popped it onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped a Pansy Patch sentiment in Evening Evergreen on a square of Basic White, then matted it on Fresh Freesia and adhered it with Liquid Glue.

I used the dies in the Pansy Dies (bundled with the Pansy Patch stamp set – saving you 10%) to cut a large and small pansy and a few leaves – these are all part of the pretty Pansy Petals DSP! 🙂

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the small flower and some leaves to the card front – then added a white Baker’s Twine bow with a Glue Dot.  It’s tied from two lengths of twine from the Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack.

I popped the final – largest – pansy on with double-stacked Stampin’ Dimensionals.  The little Bumblebee Trinket is attached with a Glue Dot – and finished off the card front.

On the inside, I stamped a second Pansy Patch sentiment in Evening Evergreen on a Basic White panel.  In the corner, I used Flirty Flamingo to stamp the pansy.  I used the Flirty Flamingo on the large image – and on the smaller “face” image.  Then I used a Blender Pen to “pull” some light streaks down into the white – creating a little more texture on the petal. Finally, I added the flower center in Bumble Bee ink.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Fresh Freesia mat and into my Evening Evergreen card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Pansy Patch flower on the front…

…and more of the Pansy Petals DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  The Pansy Petals Suite is absolutely gorgeous – and for sure one of my faves!  Pansy Patch and the bundled Pansy Dies let you create pansies in as many colors as you can think of!  And – the Pansy Petals DSP lets you just cut flowers and leaves right from the DSP.  Perfect!
