Stampin’ Up! Party Puffins Pattern Party Birthday Card with Video Tutorial

Good morning!  It’s T-minus-one-more-sleep!!  By this time tomorrow we’ll be on the way to the airport!  Negative COVID test, QR Code for testing down-stream, masks, twelve ID’s, tiny travel bottles, and lots of shorts in tow! I am cautiously optimistic that it’s really going to happen, y’all! 🎉🎉🎉

So – if you were able to join me yesterday for my YouTube Live, I sure appreciate you spending part of your Thursday with me!  If not, but you’d like to watch the replay to see how to make this card, here ’tis!

I used a couple of fun new goodies on this one – the Party Puffins stamp set takes centerstage with the Host-exclusive Pattern Party DSP playing a strong supporting role!  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one is from the Sunday Stamps sketch challenge this week.

And the color palette is from The Paper Players this week.

I started with a piece of black-and-white paper from the host-exclusive Pattern Party DSP (yes – you can select this 48-sheet pack of paper when you host a workshop OR place an individual order over $150!!) that I matted on Smoky Slate for the card front.

Next, I used a second design of Pattern Party DSP and added some Poppy Parade lines using a ruler and the bullet-tip end of my Dark Poppy Parade Stampin’ Blend.  Then I matted it on Smoky Slate and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I wrapped some black Baker’s Twine from the Baker’s Twine Essential Pack twice around the panel, securing it in the back with Glue Dots.

On a piece of Basic White, I used my Stamparatus to stamp the birthday Party Puffin in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  I colored him with my Poppy Parade and Mango Melody Stampin’ Write Markers. Then I cut him with a cool die from the Hippo & Friends Die set.

I cut the resulting die cut across the short side – right about the bottom of the puffin’s belly.

I set the top half of the label in place and used my Poppy Parade Stampin’ Write Marker to color some of the circles surrouding it.  Then I popped it in place with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I added the bottom half of the label with Dimensionals – separating the two pieces to give the illusion of a longer element.

I stamped the Party Puffins sentiment in Poppy Parade on a strip of Basic White – matted it on Smoky Slate and adhered it across “the gap” with Liquid Glue.

I tied a bow with the black Baker’s Twine and adhered it with a Glue Dot.

A single Black Matte Dot finished off the card front.

On the inside, I added a second Party Puffins sentiment in Poppy Parade on a Basic White panel.  In the corner is another puffin and I added some candles, too!  The candles are colored with the Poppy Parade and Mango Melody Stampin’ Write Markers.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Smoky Slate mat and into my Poppy Parade card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got some Party Puffins candles on the front…

… and more of the Pattern Party DSP (with some Poppy Parade-colored circles) on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  How cute are these Party Puffins peeps!?  What a fun way to celebrate a birthday!  And the massive and fun Pattern Party DSP is a GREAT value and a wonderful addition to any of your projects.  Hippo & Friends Dies is a really amazing set – even if you don’t need to cut out hippos and unicorns!  The amazing stitched shapes are worth picking up as quick as you can!

I hope you like!

If you’d like to re-create this card, all the card cuts and products you’ll need are listed down below! 🙂

Finn Fan Fix

We finally got Finn to his Get Acquainted Day at the Pet Paradise on Thursday.  It rained all day on Wednesday so we figured there wasn’t much point in taking him if he wasn’t going to get to swim! 🙂

So – he had a BIG TIME.  He crashed when he got home, y’all!

One cool thing – well, there are a LOT of cool things about this place – he’ll get ice cream every day, all day out with his friends, the pool, someone with him all the time, a Suite of his own (with an outdoor “patio”) and…the pool!  The pool is the BEST!

Y’all can peek in while he’s there, if you like!  This is the link to the webcams – – there are several to choose from and you can switch them around to find The Man!

Here’s a couple of screenshots from his Big Day!

Have fun watching all the pups playing each day! 🙂
