Stampin’ Up! Hand-Penned Petals Sneak Peek Tower Fun Fold Card

Happy Hawwmp Day, y’all!  Thank you to everyone for all the kind words about Katy that you left in the comments and e-mails yesterday.  I truly appreciate each and every one of you! 🙂

My card today is another Tower fun fold – and is the subject of the Wednesday Tutorial over at Split Coast Stampers – complete with a video!  Hope you’ll check it out!

This fun-fold has become one of my faves – it REALLY looks complicated until you sort of “break it down”!  I made one previously with the new Pansy Petals suite (see it – plus a Video Tutorial – right here!) and this one today is another fave – the Hand-Penned Petals stamp set and bundled Penned Flowers Dies, plus the gorgeous Hand-Penned DSP.   Take a look-see:

I started this one with a piece of Pale Papaya card stock (avail on 4 May in the new catalog!) that I scored and cut according to this template, using my trusty Simply Scored Board and Paper Trimmer.

Then I folded the score lines according to this template:

Once it was a “tower” – I began to decorate, using the pretty new Hand-Penned Suite of goodies!

I matted pieces of the new Hand-Penned DSP on Misty Moonlight cardstock and, using Liquid Glue, adhered them to the front and back panels of the card base.

I cut three largest Stitched Shapes squares – two in Misty Moonlight and one in Basic White.  Tip:  if you don’t have the Stitched Shapes set already, it is – SADLY!! – sold out.  You can simply cut 2 5/8″ squares of the cardstock.

I adhered the Misty Moonlight squares to the card front with Liquid Glue – tipping them up into diamonds.

I stamped the Hand-Penned Petals sentiment in Misty Moonlight onto the white square and then adhered it over the other two squares.

On a piece of new Soft Succulent cardstock, I stamped the two-step wildflower image from Hand-Penned Petals in Soft Succulent ink and cut them with the matching die from Penned Flowers.  I adhered them both to the card front with Liquid Glue.

Next, I stamped the large flower image from Hand-Penned Petals in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and colored it with the new Pale Papaya and Soft Succulent Stampin’ Blends (avail 4 May) as well as the Daffodil Delight Blends (avail now!).  Then I cut it with its Penned Flowers Die.

I popped the flower onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals, added a Genial Gem (new and available on 4 May!) and the card front was done!

For the back panel, I stamped the flower in Tuxedo Black on a Basic White panel and colored it as I’d done the flower on the front!  I also added another of the Genial Gems – cuz I really really like them!! 😉

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Misty Moonlight mat and onto the back of the card base and the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got more Hand-Penned Petals flowers on the front…

…and more of the Hand-Penned DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Hard to say what I like better – the cool Tower Fun Fold or the new and wunnermus Hand-Penned Petals Bundle and Hand-Penned DSP!  I think it might be a toss up and have officially decided that I don’t have to choose!  I can love them both!

I hope you like!

If you’d like to recreate this card, all the products and card cuts are listed below!

And – not for nuthin’ – if you’re loving this suite (and…who wouldn’t?!?) then you might want to check out my Bundle #3 – Let’s Get Floral.  You’ll get THIS bundle AND the Pansy Petals Bundle and the Sending Hugs Bundle and a few more goodies – all while saving some green! 😉

Finn Fan Fix

We don’t usually feed Finn in little prep bowls.

We DID feed Katy in the little prep bowls.  In the kitchen.  Where there is no carpet. 😉

So…what’s “off” with this picture?

Caught.  Red-pawed!

Those days are over for the Man.  I suspect he’ll lose a pound or two without the purloined cat food! 😉

A silver lining.

  1. Such a pretty card! Love that paper, perfect colors too! Poor Finn…no more kitty snacks! He’s likely to starve now. 😉

Love love love this card. I too am glad we don’t have to choose between the wunnermus paper and the fun fold! Very happy to see this over on Splitcoast Stampers today.
Ah, Finn misses his buddy; keeping her dish near.

  3. Ginny McGraw

I am a day behind in reading your posts. I am so sorry to hear about Katy. I am a cat mom too. When they finally decide to let you into their lives, it is an attachment that is dearly missed. Katy was lucky to have such a loving “brother” and family.

    • stampsnlingers

Thank you very much, Ginny – I appreciate those kind words. And the way you said – when they let us into their lives. SO true! 🙂

  4. Faith Simpson

I know you must miss Katy terribly…..how is Finn doing? (other than missing her food)….does he miss HER?

    • stampsnlingers

Not sure if he does or not. They were friendly but….his focus is always us! 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ Thank you so much, Faith!
